So we all heard AoC didn't had so many buyer and that many do not renew ...
I'd like to somehow estimate the number of subscriber, and so I'd like to know the number of server for each region:
- US: 25
- United Kingdom / European: 14
- French: 4
- German: 6
- Spanish: 1
Anyone care to check ingame?
edit: added spanish and reworded
edit: updated based on Nadia links
So from my experience there are at most 5k active subscriber per server, and I don't hink Funcom has been able to push that limit up. So that's 5000 * 50 = 250k subscribers big max
Since 5k is optimistic, I think a really number would be 3.5k. In such case that would be 3500 * 50 = 175k subscribers

edit: might not be 100% correct though, I can see one rp server missing on the EU I think
US Servers (Early Access 17th of May)
PvE Servers
European English Servers (Early Access 17th of May)
French Servers (Early Access 17th of May)
German Servers (Early Access 17th of May)
that's outdated, please post only ingame number of server (no need to list them, I just want round number)

please only ingame ...
based on the forum posts about it, there are something like 30 servers at most, meaning something like 150k active subscribers ...
So I seriously think AND HOPE that's outdated!
That's the main objective of my thread
that is -not- outdated
there have been no added US servers since 05.20

80 x 69 / 2 x 1100 / 50 x 3
182k subscribers
seriously... that's kind of an unrealistic way to try to estimate the game's population. Like a previous poster said, it's like guessing from a crystal ball if you use that method. You cannot give a correct estimate on exactly how many players are on each server other than by guessing by a server's population... and even then, we do not know how much each server can hold, and depending on how the game is functioned, each server can hold a slightly different number of players (very slight, like 1% capacity difference, but with a good amount of servers that are in AoC it adds up).
I'd guess that they'd probably have at least 200k still at this point. But that's my own personal estimate.
If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
Hmm, I heard that they increaed the numbers on each server (on the AoC forum).
To be honest, the numbers of instances and the players in the cities seems about the same now as it have since release. We can all guess the numbers of people playing but thats kind of worthless. Quite a few of the players who bought the game quited, most of them early or when their free month was up.
Someone said that they sold 800K boxes and if that is true i would guess that it is somewhere between 200K to 400K players still playing but as I said, guessing is worthless. It is still sold out in many shops here.
What I do have noticed however is that many of the players are roleplayers and a bit older than the players of Wow.
And I dont think it's useful to count the numbers 'til after a few months anyways, some players bought 3 months and quited, some will start after they tried the buddy keys which isn't out yet, some will do like one of my friends and uppgrade their computers during the summer and start after that. The first months are usually bumpy for a game, then it tends to stabilise more and slowly go up or down.
My point is that a server cannot hold more than a set number of active players at once. Usually (based on other mmorpg) that amount is around 3500.
It doesn't mean 3500 playing at the same time, usually, they expect a peak around 2k players at once during peak time
Still I agree that I'm probably wrong, it is only an estimation, but I personally doubt they have 10k players per servers.
I can't find the link anymore but I read recently that they were targeting for 3k per server (at least it's the number that has printed in my brain )
Something is wrong when we compare to the numbr of copies sold ... there are something I don't understand. The only solution I see is that they pushed that limit much further at launch which could explain many of the issues they met (lag, disconnection, ...)
