For all those who were not in Open Beta: the OB was limited, as is known to most, to Tortage and Level 13. So most people had little knowledge of the state of the real game, and as also most know the Closed Beta ppl were under NDA to the very last day. That alone spoke volums about how they KNEW in what incomplete and bad state AoC is. But thats not the point here.
At the last OB day, we were all raised to Level 20 and given new armor sets. Thats where Funcom cheated, no BETRAYED us. It made us make believe that this was in a rough the armor to be expected as level 20 - or so. When you bemoam your nice set of sack cloth now, maybe take a peek at this to see the audacity and wickedness of Funcom. Bemoan my friends!

Not really sure what your point is. Not being a metrosexual myself I could care less what the damn armor looks like.... now the stats not working right, that bothered me.

Well if you also include that whole areas were not accessable to CB people and that goes for the end-game of sieges. All that was said was that it is working and wil be in at launch. Supposedly sieges were tested all internally by Funcom. ::rolls her eyes::

do any of you remeber the "SWEET ASS" seige warfare vid they released. LOL.. it was like 5 people.. a bunch of NPCs and necros to make it look huge! Yea FC marketting FTW. We bought it so they GG.. we /fail. After AO we should have known better. Fuck.. i even called it b4 release and i still bought it.. guess i /epicfail.
Looks like 50 level epic gear. Personally I like level 20 and 30 cloth too. I guess you can't keep some people happy.

Nope, looks like a valid thread to me. As for the sieges and stuff, we never even saw those in closed beta, much less open beta. We were told the same thing as the open beta players, that they were going to be held back until launch to "surprise" us.
Surprise.

It's ok, you can say something bad about AoC. The devs aren't watching here.Seriously, what's with all the people who just support this game blindly? Don't you understand that sometimes being objective is actually a good thing?
BTW on the main forums someone just posted the server population for one of the more populated servers, Cimmeria. 1400 people are on it right now. Is that a lot of people? Nope it sure isn't, yet some people spin that around. 1400 people on one of the more populated servers, and there are 24 servers. Ouch.

Hmm, let's see.
Let's be generous and say there are three shifts of players everyday. That's 4200 players on the server every 24 hours.
Now let's be generous and say every server has the same population. 4200 x 24 = 100,800 players.
Not very successful, considering the hype of how great it was going to be. But that was back when there were going to be all those wonderful things that, surprise, didn't make it in, plus the ones that did make it in but were /are broken. So I guess you can say they're as successful as EvE. Which is nice, but nowhere near what anyone, especially Funcom, thought it would be. Even if you double that number to account for the casuals/weekend only players, you'd have 201,600 players.
And I'm betting they're getting more leaving than they have staying or new players coming in.

If these tedious hate threads were actually objective rather than just objectionable it wouldn't be too bad. Unfortunately though, most of them just seem to be posted by repetetive grudge bearing attention seekers who are rather too fond of using BLOCK CAPITALS.
Now that it has been going for over a month all of this beta test drama is just old news. If I can respect your right to dislike the game, why cant you respect other people's right to enjoy it?
Just because other people disagree with you it doesn't make them blind.

If that's actually the case, this might be the largest turn around in people buying the game and then unsubbing within the first 2 months. That's a huge swing from what they claimed with 700k subs.

You cant really take account for the forum population. The active forums acounts on WoW is a little over 50,000. Isnt there like 15million active subcribers?
I'm really hoping that this changes the way gamers think about NDA's. Funcom did not use its NDA to keep the game fresh or exciting for subscribers but to actually hide the real state of the game, to hide the problems it was having and the content that wasnt actually implemented by release.
Seeing an NDA still up close to release should be an instant red flag of deceit. I was expecting it but there are a lot of people that were too young or new to mmos to realize it. Maybe that will change now.

I wouldn't say an "instant red flag" but I do think people need to find places where people leak information so that they can find out what the company is protecting, whether it's the awesomeness if the game, or how horrible it is.

That armor looks pretty awesome. Too bad i never saw it.
As for the population numbers, does that include Anonymous and Roleplayers who are flagged?

Typical fanboi response, yea I'm a 28 year old emo kid. That's ok, bury your head in the sand a little more about the population numbers. And all those people on PVE servers that are asking for server merges are just emo kids too right. Stop being a Funcom tool and open your eyes.

Just remember that if anyone feels intentionally misled, and materially damaged as a result, you can report that here: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
The deception needs to be something you can substantiate. You also require proof of intent and material damage, fyi.
Highlighting these apparent trends in MMOs can lead to law enforcement and/or the enactment of new legislation to protect the rights of the gaming public. Any apparently unethical trends are tracked in a database.
Best wishes to you all.
Those numbers weren't from the forums, they were from in-game. Do a search for levels 1-80 and don't select an area, and then count the number of pages and multiply it by 50.
I'm pretty sure I can make my guardian look like the first guy in the second row, in fact I'm wearing boots that look exatcly like those I got them like at lvl 39. Anyways I could care less about character looks.

AO people were repeatedly ringing alarm bells about the way Funcom used NDA's well before the AoC Beta.

Dont you understand that everyone is laughing at you Avery? You are the worst example of a fanboi I have ever come across. And its kinda common knowledge that you are paid off by Funcom. Viral marketing for the win eh? Well, not even your SPAM here can change the fact that this game cant live up to the hype Funcom and paid fanbois like you are responsible for.
