When retail comes will all beta names be cleared?

  All chars will get deleted, so all names should get cleared.

   

  I havn't heared anything official about it tho, I'm just assuming.

  i know for a fact that all characters will be wiped, hence, names too. leaving beta characters for retail would not only be unfair but also useless. retail would have everything touched up, while beta is just.. beta they would have to be played on only a beta server. so yeah, the characters will be wiped.

  And that should be the case.  I can remember the CoH fiasco with children in the fetal position in the corner crying for their beta name, and the devs poor handling of allowing it.

  I think one of the only games that benefited that didn't whipe beta characters was Lineage 2. Unfortunately, I quit my char and made a new when when game was fineally released. The reason they kept them was because you have to be a high level character to participate in castle seige. In World of Warcraft's instance, whiping the characters will be the only thing that will be allowable.

  I'm almost 100% positive that all names and characters will be wiped upon release. So this will allow you to have a fair chance at getting the name you want. Lineage 2 was a rare occasion in letting the beta testers keep their characters upon realease. Also part of the reason for this was the fact that it was the open beta characters that they let the players keep, so there again everyone had a fair enough chance to get the names they wanted. Blizzard is also the type of company that makes sure games are made without bugs, and ready upon release to play. I just can't see Blizzard allowing beta testers to keep their names, which would also entitle those players to keep their characters. Blizzard would see the problems and future crys of horror and the waves of spam that would come from this also.
