Ok now watch the Diablo 3 video released, the barbarian one. This is how you make your character look powerfull and awsome and not make you feel like playing a pinball game with all the silly sounds and purple lights

Well...alot can change since febuary. Only time will tell if it has,but I'm sure each persons experiences will vary. For instance I loved EQ1 and EQ2 while hundreds of people on this site love to trash those games.
Whats about all this overuse of special effects in every game? If I mage throw a fireball it should be fire, I´m ok with that, but when you can't swing a sword without all kind of magic stuff, its too much imo. They should move a couple of artist from the work with special effects to help out the animation guys. This guy in the video looked like he had a 50 kg armor, but still he just floated around. He should look heavy, but he doesnt. Sometimes it feels like they hide their not to impressive animations in clouds of sparkles and light.
While I'm looking forward to the game,I also noticed the floating...Definately some room for polish,but least thats not a game breaking problem. hehe
I played beta upuntil febuary. i was in beta form last year August. I sold my Beta account a few wweks after the new beta strated in the new year. Yeah you may get hype here, and yes there was hype on the official beta forums, but also there was alot of very very anyoyed people as well. But like with all so called next gen mmo betas, if you say something the fanbois dont like, its the classic.

Rvr was pathetic and so was comabt, please even dont know fanboi tell me comabt was good, it just felt real slow and clunky. I played upto lvl 35 as a choppa, unlike most of the new testers having all their stuff handed to them in the focus tests going on atm. Rvr WAS just a camp at each others entrances, and attacking was trully horrendous.
Then hope you were a good Beta tester and you told them what was wrong and what you didn't like instead of whining. They could have made alot of changes, hopefully they have. And if you don't want to play in Fall, no problem!

The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

And unlike AoC, Mythic isn't trying that hard to hype it. Releasing the lowest quality screens and vids doesn't do much to generate hype now does it? It's the players that are excited about it, because of what's in the game. It's not a next gen absolutely revolutionary second coming of MMOs. They never wanted it to be that. The devs may be excited about the game but that's how every dev. should be. It's like their child, they want to be proud of it. All Mythic has to do is deliver on what they promised.

beta testers squash out bugs, they don't make changes to the gameplay and if they do it's small ones. i beta tested conan, i remeber you flammed me for telling everyone conan was going to be incomplete and be poor at launch....in your face, hahaha. i told you so. anyway the game looks ok, it should be cool, wish i was in beta. hard to go off reviewers with mmo's. i'll let the community judge it, then decide if i will subscribe or buy.
This i can say is wrong. Testing as well and the gameplay is great. Opinions remember, so i guess i can t say you re wrong but IMO it s great gameplay.
I am hoping too. I like to see more successful launches.. I did not like that video. Never know the game mechnics could be amazing.
I hope they add a knockback animation, since it looks like he's unnaturally jumping backwards to me.
