Gonna be fun to see how the trolls turn this out to be bad news.

I am usually trolling here. This is something good for Aventurine, altough if you were greek, you would laugh about AV. I really doubt the capacity of AV to publish an MMORPG internationally. What they do up to now is import VHS and DVDs and distribute them to greek video clubs. But, its a sign that Aventurine actually exists Which is definitly good news for all of us....
What I really dont understand though, is how this very promising game with all those loyal followers cannot find a more competent producer. I mean, if this game is as huge as the fanbois here think, why doesnt a big company want to publish it? Are they so ignorant?
So, you see the trolls always have an answer!

Have toga parties of course!
Hey a publisher's a publisher, rather they went with a total unknown than sell their souls to EA or horrors, SOE.
Hope we can get a cleaner translation of this document in the coming months, and we'll still need to see who gets the US contract.

Eve Online signed up with a unknown inexperienced publisher too and they did jack for them... eventually they got rid of them.
If they signed with SOE or EA that would show their product is good if not GREAT...
Getting some unknown publisher in Greece is not an accomplishment at all.
Lesser known publishers only want products to exploit and make fast $ off of...they don't care about quality. Big name publishers have CHOICES and higher standards.
Even Farlan had a publisher in Asia. SnailGames.. Doesn't mean Darkfall is any good or will amount to anything.
DnL was the biggest POS ever yet still was able to sign with a publisher..
The proof is in the pudding.. or shall we say THE GAME.. which everyone has yet to play...
If they signed with SOE or EA they would lose half thier support base. They will never ever ever ever do this. Obv they will have a diffrent publisher for US, and I doubt it will be anyone very big because they want to keep control of thier game so it isnt ruined like SWG, AoC, ect...
how the fuck do these posts get spidered so fast on google???

They would not sign with SOE of EA even in Tasos wettest dreams.
do you need a answer?
I can give you a hint, it's not done manually by employers at google.

I dont see why it matters to people if this company is dristributing th game or not, so what?!
Its someone, shit i can make better looking CD's on my computer than alot of people, you dont need a huge name like SoE behind your game for it to go well, in fact judging soe's track record i think this is a smart move,
-Jive
It matters because like I said Eve online signed with a unknown distributor and they dropped the ball big time for them.... luckily the game itself was good enough to pull through...
all this is meaningless really. The only thing that matters is how good the game is and this bit of news doesn't in anyway say if the game is good.
If anything , it says it's medicore at best if they couldn't sign with a more well known distributor for ALL of Europe. That's a big market.
They may be trying to hold on too tight to their product which in the end could end up being a bad thing if they sacrafice quality distribution and support.
Why didn't they just go straight to Direct2Download? Than you don't need any distributor or printed media.
What I really dont understand though, is how this very promising game with all those loyal followers cannot find a more competent producer. I mean, if this game is as huge as the fanbois here think, why doesnt a big company want to publish it? Are they so ignorant?
Because it's easier to collaborate with smaller companies. Big companies tend to show that they are "imba" and usually ruin the game by rushing the release.
Ex: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2.
Here's the deal..
This game is still so ridiculously far off from launching that it's not even worth speculatiing over. It won't launch this year. It's impossible and completely improbable unless they are shoving it out the door to sink or swim which may very well be the case after god knows how many years of development...
They may even be launching it first in Europe to try and get some $$$ in from it before lauching it any place else.
If they signed with SOE or EA they would lose half thier support base. They will never ever ever ever do this. Obv they will have a diffrent publisher for US, and I doubt it will be anyone very big because they want to keep control of thier game so it isnt ruined like SWG, AoC, ect...

More like SOE or EA would not even waste their time with Darkfall. Don't get me wrong I would love to see Darkfall do well but until I see more it smells of Mourning Online.
Unfortunately AVE appear to have no prior history or experience in distributing or operating online subscription games, whether or not this will have a detrimental effect will remain to be seen.
But a publisher is obviously better then no publisher at this stage.
One thing I will say is that obviously Darkfall is closer to launch then it has ever been before, of course what will actually be launched will remain to be seen.
Considering this latest information I would expect the developers will be more forthcoming with definite information about the game and what the schedule for beta and launch will be in the near future.

It's the only people they could sucker into publishing their game for little money.
Oh, and according to Tasos, Codemasters and Ubisoft wanna publish it, but Tasos thinks 15% of the gross is too much for just a publisher. But after being employed by Microsoft, MSN, working on Dark Age of Camelot, and turning Neocron into Darkfall, I'm sure Tasos has more than enough experience to know what's best.
Oh, wait. Those are all the lies he told at that conference.
Aye
So I guess Tasos will be handling the customer service, then. Well, that's good. As communicative with his gamers as he is, I'm sure it'll be great.
LOL

AudioVisual Enterprises announces their cooperation with Aventurine SA that will deal with exclusive publishing, distribution and utilization of On Line games in all the European countries.
To that end AudioVisual will create a new Gaming Division, attributing to Aventurine a 35% of the sales in royalties. With the utilization of online games, AudioVisual estimates that it will avoid income loss from piracy of all kinds.
Look for me in the shadows... but don't expect to find me...

Hmm, okay, so Darkfall has a publisher. Now what?
The fact is that 6 months from release, and they still haven't proven anything. All of these statements they have made is something they still cannot back up. They have a publisher with no experience in this field, they have not even proven 90% of their statements, and they haven't even hit beta yet. They plan to release in six months, yet they are clearly unprepared for this....
People are clearly forgetting all of this; while being distracted by publishers and interviews. Hell, even if this game gets the miracle of releasing, it sure as hell won't be ready if Adventurine keeps this up.
