What resolution do you run poll?

MarLMarL Member UncommonPosts: 606

Im just curious to what resolution mmo players run in games. Just your average resoultion for most mmos.

Please leave a comment on what resolution you run, what video card,  and if you run more than one monitor. If you have a resolution you like and cant run in a certain game say that also.

I think you missed out 1280x1024, which is probably the standard screen resolution for non-widescreen flatscreens, that's probably what a lot of the "other" people are running - I know I am.

    1920x1200 here.

Anything lower on a 24" monitor is just too big.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

Crap your right.... I actually used steams survey for the resolutions. I didn't notice it wasnt on there.

I dont think i can change the poll now though so, if you mark other and its not 1280x1024 please post

    I play at 1920 x 1200 on my 24 inch BenQ.

Best monitor I have ever purchased.

I enjoy widescreen monitors, but stick with the mantra: Dual for work, Wide for fun.

I'm not sure I can go much higher than 24, I know that some larger screens have this ooh, cool factor to them, but I just don't think I would like anything larger than 24.

Mass Effect looks Cinema Quality on it.

1280X768 vista64 8800 ultra samsung-why it matters is beyond me, no doubt running shit widescreen costs fps DUH.

im thinking ALOT o kiddies are going to lie about having the flavor of the month so why not just have people post their dxdiag?

another thing of note is not all games even support xfire/sli i know kiddies whos mommies paid for their dells dont realise this, but it is a fact just the same.

Mega basically i wanted to compare mmo players to steams survey results and so far mmo players are winning. I trust mmorpg people I dont really need to see there dxdiag.(plus you can edit that too, i do that to get in betas)

I also wanted to see if people buy expensive vid cards and runs low resolution.

I run at 1400x900 with my 7800gt and I still have my opteron 144.

I'm sorry mate but my resolution is 1280x1024 and i think it is one of the most common ones i use it simply because it is the highest my monitor supports (Acer AL1717) and the highest my graphics card supports (nVidia GeForce 5200FX Tornado (256mb))

    1680 X 1050 32 bit, XP pro, 8600gt 512mb, Benq fp202w 19" widescreen.

1440 x 900 Acer 19" widescreen. Supports higher, but that's just the perfect res for me.

1680x1050, Samsung 226BW, 7800GT (that's my weak spot, needs upgrading, just have old games I love that don't play well with newer cards).

Love my monitor. Doesn't feel super-widescreen (I hate that effect) and isn't too big (gives me a headache to be that close to something much bigger). So this one is just perfect for me!

Used to be my favorite on the 19" CRT. Now holding out on a 17" CRT @ 1024x768 (why buy a LCD when there's still a good working CRT???).

Problem with this survey is two-fold. Ingame resolution can differ than desktop resolution; CRT users have the luxury of not having the native resolution problem of LCDs, and can change resolutions on the fly without the horrid blur (which means change in game is common, especially since it boosts fps considerably).

    1680 x 1050 on Samsung 22" widescreen with 8800GT

1280x1024 here, it is the highest res my 19" LG can handle.

I'd love to get a widescreen, maybe up to 22", anything bigger seems too much sitting that close. If I wanted monstrous size I'd hook it up to the TV and go wireless on the keyboard and such.

Then again, my TV is crap. I never upgrade it since I don't really watch TV anyway.

edit: I really miss my "19 CRT...but I dropped it when moving...heard all the tubes shatter and smoke came out of the top. I laughed hysterically when my wife said I should just fix it like I do with the computer....

1920x1200 at 90hz for just about everything.

    2304x1440 at 80hz once I get my 4870x2 or Super RV770 1gb in CF.

Next resolution up makes me dip towards 60hz.  Not worth it.
