Non-combat centered MMORPGs

RyuSenseiRyuSensei Member UncommonPosts: 1

I've been bored out of my skull for a year now playing games where you murder things and then go off to fight actual players. (PvE->PvP) It's the same stuff for about 90% of the list here. Anyone know some good MMORPGs without or with little combat (or grinding in the same spot for more than a few hours)? Graphics should be appealing, but not so much as requiring a powerful machine.

What else are you looking to do? As mentioned before, there are games such as Second Life. If, however, by doing something else you don't mean chatting and building things (in other words crafting etc.), I'm sure you'll get some suggestions.

If you're interested in crafting in other games, you might want to try A Tale in the Desert. It's a non-combat MMO where people cooperate to build increasingly complex things, up to the level of wonders. Build a brick factory, genetically breed strains of flax, research in several areas "tech trees."

One of the coolest system is the law system, where players can actually change the rules of how the game operates by making petitions and getting enough people to support it.

I played this game for a while - it's not for everyone but it's very different and if you're a methodical person who likes to slowly build up a position over time it's a lot of fun.

Second Life - everything ;), Kicks Online - soccer, hmmm Project Tortue - racing, and Gold Slam - tennis...

But they are not MMORPGs... so i don't know what you want to play

    Isn't Puzzle Pirates non-combat?

I hear only good things about it...

And yeah, non-combat MMORPG - why not? Should be more of them around, definitely.... The best selling game of all times, The SIms, is completely non-combat so I'm sure a good game designer should be able to come up with a concept of non-combat-centered MMO...

IMO it is dev's laziness and lack of imagination at work. Although killing pixelated opponents for l00t and l33t is all fine and dandy, that shouldn't be all there is.

Well I haven't played the game in quite a while myself, but I looked on Wikipedia and it looks like it's $13.95, pretty much in line with most other games.
