Are Squigherders limited to 1 pet?

I remember awhile ago Squigherders were supposed to get several squigs at once, but it seems it's been redone to a single squig at a time. The squigs were also supposed to remain active for awhile after the goblin died, is this feature still around?

one squig, and i still believe the squig will fight after herder dies, just not as well and uncontrollably.

Oooh, kind of how they go nuts in the tabletop? I wonder what the White Lion's pet does when he dies.

The war lion leaves the battle upon the death of it's master, so it will not continue to fight like a squig.

1 pet at a time works for me!  I don't like the idea of having to control or manage multiple ones in an MMO!

I do!  City of Villains had me managing 6 or more of them at once, and I loved it!  Its not really as hard as it would seem, MMO gameplay lends itself to it, really.  Its more about placement and location than anything.

That said, I don't actually MIND the fact that they chose this route.  Having one really great pet, and then having many options inside that, is fine by me.  I wasn't really hot for the Greenskin guy anyway...I've played that in WoW.  Loved it, mind you, but don't really prefer it.

Also, to the OP, I will confirm that the squig herders' pet will remain and fight after he has died.  It it still listed as such under that class on the main site, and I've not read anything to the contrary of it.

  • I like the idea with a "Wild Squig". In the tabletop game when a cave squig find itself a goblin it just go wild ´n crazy and attack" the nearest person (or more likely eat it).

Having one really good pet is nice sometimes but they already have a single customizable pet clas- the White Lion. Having 3 or 4 squigs would be nice and does offer more imo.

Well i think they wanted the 2 pet classes to be a little more even. I mean if the squig herders got 5 pets or something they could have 1 squig of each or something. And then the White Lions would want more. Do you see what I am saying? They want one really tough pet to be controlled not 5 smaller less powerful ones.

"There's is a distinct pet associated with each of the spec lines. Long-ranged specialists will have a 'brawler' squig, skirmish pets have shoot-and-scoot abilities, and the close-attack specialist will get a PBAoE "farting" pet."

looks like same as white lion's one squig for each spec.

I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.

Maybe the White Lions would want more but there already is a single-controllable-tough pet for the White Lion. Also, when you read the description, the White Lion raises his pet from the beginning and etc. making the single-tough-controllable pet perfect for that class while the Squig Herder has none of that. The Squig Herder just raises a squig and sends it out to fight.

Also, the White Lion is meant to be up close fighting with his War Lion, so he obviously has ways of defending himself. The Squig Herder on the other hand is a ranged damaged dealer and isn't meant to be fighting enemies close up. So having multiple Squigs would be a bonus by giving them a form of CC that isn't snares or traps or freezes. Instead they have body blocking. It gives them a little more soloability and differentiates them from the White Lion.
