1. Knight Online. OMG, what a piece of crap. Actually, it doesn't feel like a persistant world at all. It's a very small world with nothing to do other than kill monsters or other players. Lacks ALOT: customization, skills, spells, races, content. It's a really bad game. The good thing about it is that it's easy to learn, it's face paced for newcommers to the genre, fast leveling, etc.
2. Horizons. Carebear's heaven. Good for them, I think it's hella BOOOOORIIINGGG!
3. Lineage2. Wow, was this depressing. It had, and still has, alot of potential. But the game mechanics were chosen by whom I wonder. They must have no experience at all in the market. I can't believe they had Line1. I didn't play it but it musta been aweful to play it.
I'll answer by saying that Anarchy Online and Lineage II are my least favorite mmorpg. It's not for me to say whether they are the worst or not, some people may like them.
But I guess Lineage II has gotten so many bad reviews, it may fall into the worst mmorpg category.
Since I am a true gamer, I don't hate any game, but parts of them. Like FFXI I would say I like least because of the required grouping and the annoying grind. I also don't like the fact that you can loose levels if you die too much. I DO love how the controls on a ps2 gamepad are smooth and roll off my fingers.
I ALSO don't like any games with very little character customizations like the look of your character or specilatation goes.
Hands down the most thrown together piece of crap ever. 4 major reasons.
1. Level grind - is just ridiculously slow.
2. Economy - so out of whack its as if they put no thought into it whatsoever. it almost encourages ebayers to farm. any game that allows botting of any kind just drives me insane.
3. Community - never before have i had the displeasure of meeting so many racist, rude and immature ppl in my life.
4. Character Creation - 2 faces and 4 hairstyles dont cut if for me. especially when there are no helm graphics!
Dishonorable mentions:
Eve: hated the real time skill system.
SWG: well, if uve played it...u know what im talking about here.

Wait a second...How can you people say Anarchy online sucks.... really have you even played it. the character development system is VERY good, NO problems with CS, there are guilds to join, cool new age feel, huge cities, cool wepaons different varieties for the different classes, and hte new expansion kickks butt. but whhy AO how does AO suck theres nothing wrong with it at all but one thing...the missions, a few missions dont work, and thats it. Also if AO sucks then your saying Runescape,FAIRYLAND, PUZZLE PIRATE, and various other gay (yet fun) games are better? what a nub leh
I'm not sure how anyone can say that Knight Online looks anywhere comparable to EQ2. If we were just going off screenshots I would have to say that EQ2 must have close to three times more polygons than KO. Not to mention the textures...Knight Online has nice graphics but I'd compare it to Lineage 2 more than EQ2.
Worst MMO ever: Horizons. That was the worst built and most poorly designed game ever. Might have been a great game had David Allen created it. But that is dredging up old memories.
Lineage 2 just had poor gameplay. But at the very least it was stable and playable. Just frustratingly boring. lol

LOL!!! I think it would be impossible to disagree with you about L][... poor game...
Also I too like AO and wonder why a lot of people say they hate it?
Lineage ][ and FFXI are on the bottom of my paytoplay list.
Personally I love AO, alot of people I've met get quickly frustrated with it and hate it because of the learning curve, but there are so many ways to tweak a character far beyond that of any other game, and since the majority of gear in the game is stat based and not level based, you can buff into high end gear. It's got it's flaws thats for sure, but good community, and pvp, and I love the fact that there are only 3 servers keeping the community on each huge.
But so far games I've liked the least to date?
SWG wasn't to bad, but I found trying to put up some of my trade skills had a ludacris grind from the get go. (IE: Gas mining), And UO, PK'ers ruined it for me, so I can;t say to much beyond that. I never really got to experince it since my first hour of the game I was PK'd twice and ran around looking for someone to ressurect me, and no players would do it for free.. And having just made the char he was broke... left a sour taste in my mouth. L2 from when I saw my buddy play seems very similar. PK'ers hang around the starting towns to gank new players... So I'm still not even going to try that.

Diag, I love AO, but they're customer service sucks I got copied e-mail proof...

I beg to differ. The game was bad it is tons better now. I personally love the game but then I am pretty good at it. I also teach people how to understand it and play it.
I can also state that you need to be on voice coms with a squad or brigade to really enjoy the game. Without that the game can be confusing and you can find yourself in a good fight one moment but be lost and alone when the crew moves to someplace else after a voice command is given.
True but Ark's are volunteer in game tech support that get free accounts for serving. Although helpful, most of the time they really onl serve as a medium to filter all simple request or to dismis all impossible requests to lighten the load on the GM's. But they do they're job well
I haven't played many mmorpg's but out of the ones i have played i would have to say the City of Hero's is by far the worst. The only thing i found even remotely interesting in this game was the character creation. The game itself has no point to it. You continuously just go ask a person for something to do, you do it get rewarded and then repeat over and over. I wont bash this game completely though because it was fun to mess around with the character creation.
ANARCHY ONLINE is STILL to this day my all time favorite mmorpg.. and i've played a ton of mmorpgs!!!!
It has one of the best tradeskill systems. The world is freakin huge. The Character designs are great with the emotions. the combat system aloud for players to assist in battles rather than letting the AI do all the work!!!
The Music wasn't toooo bad... The community was great!
Umm, I'm curious...was nooblet serious? Knight Online has to be the worst. Lvling up past lvl 30 is a bitch and the games monsters are all the same. Also it lags A LOT so you can die while fighting a monster and not even know it for a second. This makes fighting a pain because you may continue fighting thinking you have more health then you do, when you really dont. Then you are slaugtered. ALso there needs to be more places where you can lvl up by yourself and not always rely on groups.

darkeden and conquer online were the worst i ever played, but they were free
the worst i ever paid to play was endless ages, that game sucked really bad. way worse than any mentioned here.
Loads of free mmorpg comes to mind like tibia.
However from the ones i actually bought the box and paid money i would have to go with FFXI.

L2. I played the open beta, couldn't stand it for more than a week. It's... a grind, there is absolutely nothing else to do.

The worst of the 'big' ones = Horizons and Lineage2
sadly i've played much worse ones than those 2, but most are so obscure i wont even bring them up

Every mmorpg customer service for marketing is the same.
But the ARK (its like GMs) is the best custmer service ever.
Compare ARK wih SOE and NC, yull see a HUGE difference
