July 2008 video presented at the Greece conference

It was a video played in WMP. That would explain no UI. Also, as someone else has said this video is pretty old. . .and as far as that goes this could easily be pre-rendered.

That video is over a year old and still proves nothing.
There was no new or exclusive video at the conference, both of them have been released previously.
That video was released over a year ago, its exactly the same as this one.
Some of you appear to be just as ignorant and impressionable as some of the developers at the conference.

*Edit, actually although nearly identical, I think it’s a composite including a few bits from other videos that have already been released.
So apparently they had time to edit a new composite video of previously released video, but not to actually record any new footage, if I’m right then that’s very troubling.
Until someone is video taped actually PLAYING the game you can't really call it a "game player video". This doesn't go just for Darkfall but there have been other developers that have been caught "improving" their in-game screenshots.

You must be mistaken, why would Tasos presents at this very important conference a 2 years old video just 5 months before release, it doesnt make any sense.
Care to explain trolls ?
Maybe because he has nothing else to show? And still wants to keep the hype alive?

Haha, did you not look at the video posted above? Its the same video and it was uploaded to youtube in 2007. So unless the guy on youtube had a time machine. . .that would make this an old video.

Nice job trying to pull some bullshit. The video is very old. Why would Tasos present an old video at an "important conference"? Cause he can and it is all they have. You just made Darkfall look worse without even knowing it rofl.
Explanation, there is nothing new to show. There is no game.

I watched this video a YEAR ago. And so you know that was a Simulation of Darkfall not actuall gameplay screens. They basically constructed some set pieces using the graphics engine then had some simulated battles using NPC's.

Know what I find funnier? Not even you can come up with an excuse for them showing old gameplay footage at this place.
Pretty pathetic to show up with months old videos when all you need to do is hit FRAPS.exe and record some fresh stuff...

Does anyone want to spend the time to actually work out if this is a composite of existing released footage. (I've looked briefly but the quality if very poor.)
Or simply exactly the same video as the one released over a year ago.
Because I’m quite sure it has parts from other videos edited into it.
If they did have time to create a new video, but only using existing footage, then I find that far more troubling then if they simply just re-used old videos.

Ok thanks, I just downloaded the original to compare them but the video's keep freezing when I try to watch them simultaneously.
Well it certainly is disappointing that they did not show anything new at the conference, I suppose either you have to believe things like they are to busy to make new videos or they want to hide there secrets.
Or you start considering much less optimistic explanations.

they are too busy: they present their game at a conference but they don't even have a new video. Brillant.
I trust in DFO, gonna preorder the game, Collector edition.
Everyone! Relax.....its not our problem how Aventurine runs its own business. Maybe we will se a new video tomorrow....maybe we wont. Maybe will the game be released in five months...maybe it wont.
As a hardcore DF fanboi all i can do is wait and see. And that is exatly what every troll also have to do.

Everything that goes on in the gaming industry has an effect whether good or bad towards the industry. Aventurine practices are bad for business. Screwing up now, will have lasting effects on what happens to sandbox games down the road. It's hard enough for indie companies to convince even small publishers and investors to let them sign on with them. Doing stuff like showing up to conventions with year old video's. Doesn't help the smaller guys that are thinking about walking the same path with their own game idea's. Because not everyone has the capitol or means to produce and self publish something as big as a MMO.
So give it a rest with lame excuses like the one you posted.

I hope we wont be seeing even more excuses and justifications like the ones Daarco is trying to make the closer we get to December.

Thats the biggest load I've ever heard. Oh NO if DarkFall doesn't make a new video then noone will ever try a sandbox game EVER AGAIN!
You're wrong there buddy, Adventurine will only hurt the the Sandbox Genre IF they release, and release poorly, not if they don't release at all.
As he said, and as I've said you can't make DarkFall change the way they run their business. Whether the video was new or old, it doesn't matter, because we don't decide what DarkFall does.
If you don't like it, don't follow the game, they'll do the same thing whether you troll the forums or not, it's really not hurting anything by them trying to develop this game. If anything its shown a very good niche market from players who've followed this game, especially for so long.
