I rejoined about 3 or 4 weeks ago and am loving it. I left just after episode 3 because of bugginess. I fell through the world one night and that was the last straw. I left.
After a year and a half absense, I decided to give it another try.
This is what I came back to.
The crafting system is great.
Lots more quests and story arcs.
Even with the limited population I never have problems finding a group. And the people that are there have been very nice and patient with me trying to relearn my character.
I'm a lvl 32 Human defender and I have a couple of other alts that I play.
I have been jumping from game to game recently trying to find a home. I think I found it.
Some people say it's boring, I say all games get boring at times. Sometimes you dont have 3 or 4 hours to kill, so you wander around for an hour thinking this is getting boring. Agreed.
AC2 has a lot of things to do that don't take a lot of time. There are also things to do that can take all night (like a bound fetich hunt) . Turbine is obviously dedicated to the game and has published their future plans for it. Looks promising.
My point is this, after jumping around for months I finally found a game to stick with. And I hope that more people will give it a shot...or a second shot.

Thanks for your thread, Saranth.
I've tried a lot of titles myself; & have been happily subscribed to Anarchy Online for months, now. I've been reading a lot of reviews for AC2, & I'm seriously considering trying it. AO has a great community, & I'm wondering if AC2 is just as friendly towards new citizens, as it's been for 'one of their own' returning.
Also, do you think I'd get bored too fast, coming from a hardcore sci-fi title? I really enjoy a good fantasy genre mmorpg, as well; so I'm open to trying AC2.
Last question (for now ), is the craft system really as good & as easy to get into as I've been reading?
Thanks, spiritwolf
When this game first came out I remember I wanted to play it so bad I could taste it. But sad as it is, the only method of payment they offer is via a credit/debit card. This reason, and this reason alone, made it so I could never play this game. I have to rely on gamecards and services such as Paybycash.com and such. If this game did have any other payment options I would still be all over this game in a heartbeat...don't know why exactly, but I have always had a calling of sorts to try it out.
Anyways, if anything has changed as far as payment options go...let me know (not too mention that it could help increase their player base, I mean, almost every game now days has more than the one payment option).
Just do the free trial.... see if you like it... if you do go setup up a debit account... it isn't that hard... just get your guardian to sign for it or something... i have debit/checking with my own money and when 18 i change it over to my name.
Hmmm been away from AC2 for like 5 months. Loved it then, still really miss it. had to leave cause microshaft got crazy with there billing and made me pay like 4x the cost of them game. i had 45$ fee from them 5 months during my AC2 account. I canceled it and have been waiting for turbine to officially take back over. I awaiting response to see if my character is still there or NOT. if it is not then im going to just buy a new account cause a new cd key is 12.95$ which comes with 30 days and NEW accounts use turbines new billing system and not microshafts. SO thats where i stand, installed and waiting on an answer. use my already made character and worry about unexpected fees or start over knowing im "supposidly" safe from unexpected fees.
Turbine has already stated that they have not, nor are they planning on deleting any characters... So you should be good there.
Too bad that Microsoft had to be involved in the billing... More and more am I hearing about billing problems

In light of today's announcement by Turbine, and their decision not to introduce new content until the March 05 expansion pack ships, I would strongly recommend that anyone wanting to try this game wait until then and just buy the expansion pack.
Part-and-parcel with the Xpack are supposed to be fixes for many of the bugs inherent in the platform (rubberbanding, lag, pet pathing, sound).
lol take it from a guy that was there from closed beta thru about 5-7 months it sux and its a dieing game thats why the are making a expac thnking it will bring it back to life, but it wont.

Dru's is fairly truthful in my opinion while loki's is pretty much just a lot of let off steam. I still stand that from all the MMOs that I have played, including WoW .. Ac2 is the only mmo that has truly given me an enjoyable experience. I do suggest that you return during the expansion pack launch, but it is fine to jump in right now too.
Lv 62 Ranger
Frostfell
Loki,
I was in closed beta, played as a subscriber for roughly the amount of time you did, but then I went back to it. It has gotten a hell of a lot better since you last played. Although, they can still do a hell of a lot more to make it even better...
