So...
Let me get this straight. A list of bugs with the game, technical issues that need to be fixed for various aspects of the game to function correctly... are suggestions?
Suggestions? Are you kidding me? This offer a list of 67 bugs this poster has found, and the rest of the thread consists of players listing other annoying bugs they've encountered that didn't make the list.
Funcom considers bug reporting / technical support simply topics of SUGGESTION?
Well Funcom, here is a suggestion for you.
Fix the game, offer an extra month of free playtime (delay subscription start dates another month so you get two free months game time).
Think about it this way, you now have 60 million dollars (very rough estimate based off of Funcom saying they sold 1,000,000 copies at ~60 USD a pieace) and two months to fix the game and get things to the point they SHOULD have been at for release. Then you can start charging people the monthly fee.
The day a MMO dev team view technical issues / bug reports and merely player SUGGESTIONS is the day that you know without argument that something is screwed up.
Technical issues and bug reports are NOT suggestions, they are problems. They need to be fixed, not something to be lightly taken into consideration.
Seems the people who said "wait a few months to play" were 100% right.
WTF Funcom, WTF

Thanks for the additional linkage.
Am I the only one who thinks it is complete and total BS that Funcom would view contructive, well written and detailed posts such as these as simply suggestions?
I think it really boils down to the issue of communication from Funcom to their player base. Labeling technical support / bug fixes and "suggestions" really send a bad message to your players.
It's like saying, "we hear you, and we'll think about it, but implementing any/all of these fixes is not something that is high on our list of priorities."
That may not be the truth, but that is how I interpret their message.
What could be higher on their list of priorities then fixing the bugs/technical issues that players are complaining about?
Dancing? And yes i agree with you completely.
I am not disagreeing with the content of that list... but I don't know why you are unhappy with the thread being moved. It wasn't locked or deleted, just moved to a forum specifically for getting suggestions from players to developers. Where was it moved from? Was it in the cesspool that is General Discussion, or was in in technical issues getting buried by 1000 system specific hardware discussions? I think Suggestions might be a better place for that list than either of those options.
I also think it's a little dishonest to portray the game as not worth paying for. I am having a great time with it. I wont deny that it has issues to work on, some are more important than others... but the game is certainly playable. If it isn't worth 15 bucks to you yet, that's cool. Don't play for a month, better yet, make it three... maybe then they will fix the issues for you... for free.
-----Zero Punctuation Eve Online Review-----
I guess I just view techincal support / bug lists as more then polite suggestions.
I just think it sends the wrong message to the players that they classify posts such as these as suggestions.
To me, suggestions would be ideas to change or modify the game for whatever reason. Where as bug fixes and technical problems are issues that need to be resolved because they take away from the playability of the title.
There is a difference, one that I believe is important to recognize.
Suggestions was a more appropriate place for a thread of 101 bugs and quirks.
The technical board is called "Technical Issues and Solutions". It's already impossible enough as is to have a developer, or community manager speaking for a developer, respond to every individual problem a person has. I personally wouldn't want 'em wasting a significant amount of time on a person's list of 101, which he compiled off the boards rather than his own immediate and personal gameplay experience.
The suggestions forum on the other hand is supposed to be a place where developers and community managers will read threads, and relay information, but more than likely never respond.
So what's the issue if its just as likely to be read in both places, but not responded to in the forum that it was moved to?
A lot of those issues were fixed in a patch that came two days after the original thread; so specifically addressing the list in detail or any like it would be a waste of time given the Tuesday and Thursday patch pattern Funcom has established.
That said, I don't see a reason to get riled up over a thread a guy couldn't even complete, and depended on a flock of others posting and reposting their issues in. If you had a legitimate, urgent concern on the technical issues board, wouldn't you hate it if it was buried by something like that? I would. Took long enough for the Out of Memory thread to be stickied, and that was pages of people posting about one specific gamebreaking issue in contrast to what was essentially a troll post; despite the legitimacy of the bugs listed.
I am really doubting FUNCOM as a company at this point.
The game has been out for 6 weeks. I just had a discussion with a US GM this morning regarding issues I am having with my guild city. I cannot build additional towers, no walls. The trader floor is not solid. It's a mess. I've spent 3 hours chasing this problem down.
So I speak to the GM and they say "yeah - we know about it - lots of bugs". Where is the list of these bugs? Where is the forthcoming information from FUNCOM on all the damned bugs? My client crashes like crazy in various towns with the infamous "OUT OF MEMORY" error.
The GM went on to say that they cannot post information on the FUNCOM forums, they cannot complete 20 quests at the moment because of bugs.
I read the recent interview from their lead developer. This may be focused on Europe because the US has more console games, but I have to tell ya; arrogance and ignorance are prevailing in EUROPE at FUNCOM.
This game SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RELEASED without a more thorough and comprehensive beta program. PERIOD! The fact that users are paying money for this crap, hundreds of bugs, memory issues, video performance issues; is reflective of the CRAP QUALITY FUNCOM has produced in this game, as a gaming developer unit - and it reflects even more so as a company philosophy and corporate entity.
I am literally sick and frustrated of all the bugs and the continual and repeated response from GMs "we know about it".
FUNCOM needs to get out in front of these issue with a dedicated forum for public knowledge of their known issues and bugs, the priority of resolution, the status of resolution and let the playing public know what the hell is going on.
If the general community of gamers do not know it yet; maybe they should be told ...
AGE of CONAN is SERIOUSLY BUGGED and SERIOUSLY in TROUBLE!!!
It's not all rosy as their interview with the various public INTERNET sites reveal.
THE GAME IS BUGGED and BADLY! It is GOING DOWN in FLAMES - FUNCOM.
I don't want to object your intellect nor financial skills, but do you think that when the game sells for 60$, all 60$ are going directly to the Funcom and there's absolutely no cost of anything?
