If you are a vet or just trying the game...go to BLOODFIN!
The reason I say this is that the population actually seems pretty good.
Also, in reading these forums I see many of the returnees happen to be going there.
The population really makes the game. I had flashbacks of Pre-CU listening to the talk, the duels, the ppl spaming their wares....and even the drama....it was so weird.
If they could only make a Pre-CU server....

Since when did 100 people online at any given moment constitute a good population. Nice try, I was just on Bloodfin a month or so back. There are videos made a month ago that show just how sad the populations on Bloodfin and other servers are...

Since November 15, 2005 when SOE started the process of losing over 200,000 players.
Since when did you have access to the server logs to say just how many people are actually online?

Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside
Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.
Not Pre-Cu i agree. But you can community search at peak hours and see there is well over 100 players on BF. Same with Bria and chimmy.

Are you kidding me!? 100 players at peak hours is sickening, sad, deplorable. 100 players in a well populated game constitutes a small to average guild. Pong probably still has a larger player base than SWG. Having so many players years back in SWG that you waited in que to log in was a population, now its just a few walking dead in a dead game.

why would anyone ever wanna come back? lol i remember when the devs or mod whatever posted on the swg forums that the current devs couldint fix up the old devs coding or whatever so musty will still be bugged and that htey couldint fix up the old pre cu bugs so we would have to live with it and that they only add new and small stuff like a 2 room instances every 2-3 months to keep us happy lol the game is broken also this is typical SOE theyv give up on the game it wont suprise me if they shut swg down in a half year or so they dont even seem to bother anymore
The OP is merely recruiting to Bloodfin/pointing out that Bloodfin appears to be a good server to rally returning and trial players to. There's no harm in this so let the OP be. Besides other vets, comparing the present to the past has no meaning or relevance to people.
what i said above about the mods posting on forums where a couple of months ago kinda says how much the ga me is ruined and broken all together you cant even enter a instance in musty anymore without someone getting bugged out and its been like that for a year now and then you have go glitch your way in the instance withc you get banned if someonne tells on you because of there fault for not being able to fix the instances

First -- please use some punctuation.
Second -- your commentary has no bearing on the OP or even what I wrote. So the game is broken, people can figure that out pretty quickly with a trial and move on if that is the case. Or, they can just pass on visiting Mustafar. The OP's point was, if you're coming to check it out, come to Bloodfin so the population can naturally be consolidated.
Never thought I would see the day that Bloodfin would need to recruit people off forums to try and bring up the population. Not saying too much for the state of the game.
this morning i saw 8 people on bria lol we are all set can do instances and stuff lol...
but again it was off peek hours....
So maybe 2 to 3 instances at peek lol...
Are you the op's parent or guardian? Its clear what the message was and we understood it just fine. We bring reality into the fantasy that SWG is in anyway, shape or form a fun, viable, stable and populated game. There is great harm in trying to get people to waste their valuable time on this waste of hard-drive space. A Fanbois popualr comment "you can't compare past to present", I'm not comparing with the past, I'm telling you that presently the game is horrble and without question.....dead.

Every post kind of degrades to this:
1. Game is dead/dying/not worth playing VS. fun/not that bad/much better than the release of the NGE
2. Profit
I started to make a list, then realized it only went to the first point. I don't get why the debate comes down to people that don't play SWG and hate it versus those that do play SWG and like it. I've played lots games I have considered "bad quality", "inferior", or even "ruined", but that doesn't mean I discourage people from trying them out. I might tell my friends I didn't like it, heck, I might even give it a bad review. I won't pretend I don't have my own agenda, we all do. I just wish it would be a bit cleaner for the sake of people still interested in the game.
What authority have we to decide whether our perception of the game is reality or not?
You say it isn't fun, and that is the reality to you.
I say it is fun, and that is reality to me.
Your goal is likely to "kill" SWG because of the screw up that SOE did with it.
My goal is to "save" SWG because my server (Chilastra) has a great population, I know lots of people there that make the game fun and worth playing, and the developers we have now are actually listening to players.
Neither of us are right or wrong, we're just different (I know that sounds very hippie-ish).
I'm not going to pretend that this single reply will make any bit of difference in the imfamous "To SWG, or not to SWG" debate that is going on; both sides have strong emotional ties to the game in one way or another, be them negative or positive. What I do wish would happen is that discussion of the topic would be elevated above the point of "the game is dead vs. the game is fun". New perspective players don't need that, and neither do any of us.
(I need to get off this "internet" thing, I think it is taking too much of my time =P)
well people should know that the devs them self said the game is broken and they cant fix it or not realy even trying to do so people shouldint waste there money on this garbage
Its sad because the world is so big, but there just isn't enough people to support it. It really is sad because it was once a great game. I think the poplulation now is nothing but vets that can't seem to let go because of their rares ect and the game does is not friendly to new players in the since you would be the only new player.
Before the CU/NGE there were 250,000 players. Now generous estimates put the population at around 10,000 players. What other proof do you need?

Just a side note but ifyou must use alts and start new accounts to keep posting the same thing over and over again you might want to make the account a few weeks before you actually use it and build up a postcount a bit to make what your doing somewhat less obvious :P
carry on.
see this is why i come to these boards to "people watch"

People watching would mean you sit back and watch, not interject yourself into coversations that have nothing to do with you. What you do isn't people watching it's viral marketing.

if you say so except that I dont think i have made one single post on this forum asking anyone to return. I dont care if people go back that's the point. I watch people and yes I do find most of it pretty funny especially that guy with that drama ++ post the other day in one forum saying no way he would ever play a sony game and then I do a double take 3 days later tops and see this very guy asking people to come play on bloodfin
So yeah i people watch and its pretty funny at times as has been the last couple of days.
I think once a guy was asking for a guild to join so Invited him to mine and he didn't even go to that server but since he was already signed up I had nothing to do with is decfision to play he just wanted a group to play with . Thats as close I have gotten to even suggesting someone play.
what I do take an issue with is people who feel that people shouldn't make up their own minds to play or not to play based on the "tellings" of a few people who get angry when someone does sign up. People have a right to decide for themselves one way or another. Your hatred or my like of the game is no never mind and I dont try to ram my likes or dislikes down other people's throats and turn sommersaults and make alts to try to bump posts that have fallen down past the second or third page in some attempt to keep an eternal flame of hate on a dead subject.
For you anyone that says they play this game or tries to answer a question on this forum is a "viral marketer" . They just play the game and long ago I realized now that there is no one around to answer questions that are asked just a group of people not interested in answering actualy questions only to find another thread and reason to post why the guy should stop downloading the game this minute which is totally off topic and not particularly helpful for the guys issue.
In any event I think have some people down alts or no alts on this board based on the same line they use in every single post and I would bet good money on my educated guesses too. So yeah I people watch and its funny as hell people dont even bother to alter the way they deliver the message
Before the CU/NGE there were 250,000 players. Now generous estimates put the population at around 10,000 players. What other proof do you need?
I wasn't denying the numbers. The game is undeniably *dead* if you compare it to it's previous population. What I'm saying is, myself and quite a few other people don't need 250,000 players to have fun. Mass PvP is great, populated starports are great, but to be honest I never talked to all those people, and I never live long enough (as a medic) to kill all the imperials in a huge battle.
The numbers don't mean a lot to me...if I can log on, talk to friends, get some craftings orders through, buy a set of armor, set up a group in ventrilo and then PvP in small numbers (8+ people on each side, sometimes a lot more), I'm happy. If I want the chaos and confusion of spam I can head to Eisley, but when there aren't people crawling all over the place it makes chance encounters more interesting. There's more meaning when I run into someone in the wilds and we stop and have a nice chat.
I'm not saying the low numbers are a good thing, but they just don't kill the game for me and the people I know in game. I can understand if people log on and find the population unbearably low...but it doesn't happen to me. I suppose I might just be well connected, but I only have a couple imperial contacts (I'm not actually sure why, factional clumping I suppose) and the rest of my gameplay comes from rebel players (not counting pvp, which obviously is interaction with them), so I know it's not just me.
Summary:
I suppose to me, a full group of 8 on each side is enough to have fun in PvP
A list of at least one of each crafter to get orders from and supply is enough for the crafting side of things
And an active guild/friendlist is enough for social interaction,
I notice no many how many people I meet in games, I still have about the same amount of "quality interaction" as long as there are nice people there to meet. I don't feel deprived while playing SWG.

No, you don't ask people to return. Your role, or job, is to attack people who do not like the NGE system and defend the unethical actions of SOE. Yours is more of a "bad cop" role in the scheme.
In a viral marketing campaign, different online personas play different roles. That's just the way it's done. But then, you know this.

This is where you and I definately differ. When I "people watch" it isn't for the chance to discuss a 5 year old MMO's merits. It's for the BEEWWWWBEEEES!!!
Next time "people watch" in Las Vegas, you'll see what I mean.
