I mine. That's what i really do Though my poor probe can only carry ~500 m3 so im waiting for my skills to be complete for a Retriever. But yeah.. Im loving the whole mining aspect of the game
The speed of the mole and the power of steel is my weapon
I liked making ammo back before the missile changes. I got my hands on a lot of BPC for cruise/torps and had some fun making money. But I also like to mine my own minerals for it, and hunt rats for some fun drops.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
With the character on one account I mine and manufacture, on the other I mission and salvage. I found it impossible to concentrate on only one career path so EVE is the first and only game for which I have owned 2 accounts.

Thats a really good idea, if I ever play again I might consider getting a new acc. My current char is divided between mining and combat as I can't concentrate on one career like you. He's rated to fly mining barges and BC's, and sucks in both =P
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

Lv3 and 4 agent missions are worthwhile they contain : bounties , loot drops , plus you can salvage and also in certain missions you get whole fields of omber etc ... keep misison open and mine all that . this can get long but it's nice isk if you do everything.
Bingo, this is what I do... and the refining with full skillsis so nice getting 100% refinment and all that salvage... it makes my eyes water
I mine like hell! Yeah im using an industrial ship to mine, yeah it takes too much time but im training for a covetor!, plus i have like 12000 m3 cargo space! Mining for life! I love you EVE!!!!!!!
if you're a mission runner, and have the patience to train a few skills, you could always make some passive iskies from datacores.
i think i make, if i sell to sell orders immediately, about 3m isk/day from RP/selling datacores. i normally let it just build up for months and then go find an active spot and put it up for sale for a week or two before it sells out. i tend to get quite a bit more for them than immediate sales would've given.

I do whatever sounds fun. Exploration, Trading.. Currently, i offer a courier service. Corp/Alliancemates can order things, and i bring them into our space. I don't need to much money right now, made a few bil with exploration.

How do you make money off of exploration?
P.S. I don't play EVE but i love exploration in games, so if i can make money exploring I think i may be interested.
you can make isk exploration , what it does if you know how to use you scanner you can find hidden belts anomalies , but dont go in them alone use a shuttle rats dont aggro in them , and bring a buddy and clear that hidden place .
there alot alot of thing to find out in eve , just learning the whole thing is like one big quest .
It was long, long and even more time but I eventually purchased a my first exhumer-Hulk for mining just about everything then picked up a Mackinaw for ice mining. I craft alot, and I think its worth it to mud through the time it takes to train the skills for mining and crafting, if only because I really enjoy it. I have already purchased my Obelisk but I am ages it seems from being skilled to use it....its killing me lol! I make so much ISK its ridiculous but I also spend a ridiculous amount to keep my mini mining/crafting empire thriving in alot of systems. EVE has, at least to me, the best crafting system in any mmo and with the skill system I can train, train, train and constantly improve my char and my business. There is a compelxity to the economy that keeps me coming back for more and that allows players with patience to make phenomonal amounts of ISK!
But yes, i use my good scanning skills (originally skilled for scanning for players) to pin down exploration sites. It's time consuming, and you can read a book in the meantime, but as i normally work on something on my second monitor, it's a nice way to find very rewarding sites for hacking/combat. Especially the invention related stuff dropping from hacking sites was very, very valuable, as it was the only way to get the items needed for t2 invention. The prices are now at a lower level, but still a good hacking sites can earn you a few hundred million.
My personal record was 2.5b on a weekend, as i looted some high end deadspace gurista gear and a rattlesnake bpc, that sold for ridiculous amounts of isk to highsec missionfarmers, that pay billions for modules us 0.0 people never risk in combat but for supercapitals..
I need to get back to exploration myself I suppose. I trained most of the skills but never used them but 2-3 times. what is sad I am trained for Hacking / covops / scanning and run the rigs. when CCP changed my Helios into that ugly imicus its weird that kinda nailed exploration for me. I dont enjoy looking at that ship anymore
I mostly enjoy trading and manufacturing. I'm not a billionaire mind you but with just a few minutes of time I can make more then enough to cover expenses for 0.0 (tech II frigates)
I really dont enjoy Exploration a whole lot though. I don't like the waiting on the result. But meh, maybe I will try it again
I do enjoy ratting in 0.0 along with trading and manufacturing awhole lot. I breakdown the loot I get from ratting/sa;vaging, manufacture goods to sell for high prices in lowsec/nullsec, and make a decent income from that. I really enjoy that aspect of the game a lot just wished it was 'random' fun like Hacking

Hehe, yes, the new helios just looks _wrong_. But look at it that way: You will sit on your starsystem map the whole time anyways, and you are cloaked, too.
Scanning is incredibly boring, and i already poked ccp devs with it. As exploration is some kind of long term goal to use for belts and other content, a revamp of the whole system may actually happen. Soon (tm)
I finally decided that mining/manufacturing is for more fun than doing missions (crazy, first time). For me mining in low sec is about as exciting as doing missions and mining in high sec is far more. Plus playing the markets makes me feel good about myself lol.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
