So I got a key to join the friends and family beta....

in Everquest II

And it doesn't work!!! image

 

Am I missing something? Is there a delay for them to be activated after the email is sent out?

    I doubt there are many people in beta here that could answer that. You might try, ohhh... SOE. I'm sure there is an email in the body of the message for problems.

    There's no email address and I can't even access the beta forums as my key doesn't work!

    No, it's real, they include information only sony got at the time of my beta app, any the mail definately originated with them.

    DUDE! I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM TOO! I got me email and the beta key doesnt work, maybe tommorow?

    Me too, its definitely real, it came from gandalf.sonyonline.com, SOE's external mail server. This is so frustrating, been waiting for this for months and it finally drops into my inbox and doesn't work.

    Hopefully it will work tomorrow ::::16::

    Of course, they could have screwed up and sent us all the same invalid key image

    send them an email asking if the mail was a hoax or not, seemed real enough for me though...

    It's looking that way or they sent the keys out early and forgot to turn the registration server on!!!

    I have the ssame problem to. But a tip to all of you guys... I tried on purpose signing the key wrong and it gave me the email address so that I could mail sony and tell them about my problem. So they mighrt give me an explenation, and if they do I will write it here for you guys in this thread::::20::

    Hey guys, I checked the e-mails from sony and guess what. The mail that sent me my reg form was from The Station@sony.com but the mail that I got from sony when I had lost my password to my account came from station@station.sony.com... I don't know if this is any kind of evidence or any imprtant info at all. But maybe someone could explain this if they know..

    Well I got the mail too (for euro beta) got the link, download and I was in! (10hours later tho lol! long download)

    I REALLY enjoy it!!image

    I tried to send an ameil to eq2-friends@soe.sony.com.

    I got that email from the the page where u have to put in the keys. It returned my email stating that above mentioned email is nonvalid.

    I think all of us signed up for euro beta, at least I was, but my key doesnt seem to work.

    Ok, to eliminate the idea that we've all been blanket bombed with the wrong key, would anyone be willing to confirm the ninth character of theirs?

    Think I may have an idea about the problem

     

    Dunno about the rest of you but my e-mail seems to say friends and family program with a link to verify the friends and family beta key

     

    But I only signed up for the US and UK beta's I think the e-mails sent the wrong link to verify the cd-key

     

    Someone has posted the idea on the US tech forums

    that was my guess to, we arent part of the 'family and friends' beta, but just the regular euro or uk beta, so the link is probably wrong...time will tell

    I too thought it was a fake until i myself got it.It goes to the offical site(trust me i been there so many times i knoe the URL off head hehe).

    So it is real and it is an issue many europeans have including me.

    It seems everyone in Europe have the same problem.

    Must be some technical isue so lets wait until they solved it.
