You know it grieves me to see what LEC and SOE continue to do with this title. From broken quests that are "working as intended" to the ever changing and now deleted jedi unlock system, to the unwanted combat upgrade, to the horror of the NGE and finally now rmt trading card loot.
It's like watching a pet being experimented on by an unethical veterinarian. My God, if you won't cure it, please put it out of its misery. Stop bringing interns in and trying out all kinds of crappy development and marketing gimmicks. It's too late to let it die with dignity. Just let it die out of pity.

soe will milk this train wreck for all its worth.
I really don't think the SWG card game is going to amount to much, excpet milking a few fanbois of $$$$ in their never ending quest to be the 'uber l33test' toon. You know what is said about fools and their money....
You know if SOE is able to process the trading cards to be easily converted to tissue and toilet paper then these items may be handy for the NGE fanbois as they cry and crap themselves when the game shuts down.

So it would seem... More's the pity.

using nge materials as toilet paper has shown to cause colorectal cancer in lab monkeys.
Yep. The card game isn't going to attract new players, nor is it going to draw former players back. The only people who will play it will be the small handful that are currently there, and still dwindling. I predict the initial items that come from the cards will be insignificant, which will keep anyone from buying cards for the game. This will lead SOE to change the items to something much more significant in game, which will basically change the card game into a de facto RMT itemshop. It's the only way the card game will have a chance to turn a profit, considering the state of SWG's playerbase.
The only way the card game would be at all useful is if there were special cards that unlock the good version of SWG (pre-CU), or gave access to a an actual fun new version of SWG (meaning a brand new core game). Other than that, it is a useless addition to a broken, unfun product.
Unfortunately, I can't target my ass or my nose with the NGE interface so as to use the cards as TP or kleenix....
(I also can't target that MOB that wants to beat the $h!t out of me either....)
It was a big experiment, and we were the guinea pigs. Really, why would someone have a published game then promptly pull the rug from under their player base with the NGE - totally changing the entire dynamics of the game.
If SOE did that, I'd resub, buy as many card packs as I could, and hope to get my game back.
Best not to give SOE any ideas though.

Lol, I love it. Funny, but frighteningly insightful I think 0_o
Omg I can picture Smed rubbing his hands together thinking: hmm super-rare card = pre-cu UI option. Then they'd advertise it, but it wouldn't actually exist, and when questioned about it, they'd say "working as intended." Gawd, now I've got chills lol.
