GM support is amazing

Ok, I've already said how much I am loving this game. I thought AOC was ok, but now that I started to play VG I've found that I never log to AOC anymore.

Anyway, I encountered my first quest bug at lv10. So I petitioned a GM. Coming from AOC I expected a long, long wait so I went questing elsewhere.

Well, 15 minutes later the GM appears and is perfectly polite and takes care of the issue.

Sure, VG has a low population but AOC had lowered my expectations of GM support so much that I almost fell off chair at how prompt and efficient VG staff are.

Really, if you are a refugee from other mmorpgs, then I have to say this that this is game is ace.

p.s I know I sound like a fanboi, can't help it lol.

The crazy thing is that kind of customer support is normal.  the GMs are great.  By the far the best of any game I have seen.  BTW each GM has his own treat which he often gives out to players.  An examples is GM Ceythos's Lizard on a stick which turns you into  a Lizard. Just ask the GM them and they will give you a present.  But more importantly the VG GMs are nice, know the game and they  treat their players with respect.  Unlike other games they can actually solve player problems.  For example on a broken quest they will check to see if you actually killed the mob then give you the quest item rather than tell you to kill the mob again.

The only bad thing about Vanguatrd's GMsIi can say is that since SOE took over they no longer are tough on exploiters nor do they call out in shouts the names of people they banned anymore for exploiting.  For example I know a high end raid guild that recently left the game that exploited many mobs. Most of the high end raid guilds knew this and the GMs and Devs knew this.  But nothing was ever done done except to remove some of  the mobs temporarily from the game they had been exploiting.

hmm for me I couldn't get the petition interface to work.... I just brought up a blank screen.  I know the web browser is working cause I have that maps addon installed and it has a web link in it that works.

Hopefully this was an exception... but my first experience with the petition system was not a good one :(

Well good for you!  Always good to see customer service working as it should.  Back when had my sub. I remember having an issue and the GM came along and help me with no problems.  So yeah I gotta agree with you that in my experiences with VG their customer service was top notch.

Hmmmm, which reminds me, SOE sent me an email saying I can come back and play for free until July 31st.  Maybe I'll give it another go...

I never did have a problem with GM's even way back in beta. I remember during beta the tombstones would spawn under the game world and withing 10 min of filing a petition someone was there and recovored it no problem.

I havent had to petition since I have been back, which is a good thing, but its nice to know they are still on top of the petitions.

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

Try the /flush command.  That usually fixes your issue.

These GM are cool. Yesterday I noticed a bug = bug report.

15 mn after the report, a GM changed my necro into a chicken lol. (GM did it twice : each time I sent a bug report.)

Of course all bugs noticed and reported have been fixed (ex: sharks on ksaravi bay attacking even on the beach)

Last time I /petitioned because some quest items ware not dropping - before I left the site where I was looking for them GM contacted me. It was literally maybe 2-3 minutes. Half year ago I was waiting for 2 days to resolve similar issue,

That could be because SOE has various legal concerns to worry about. Other games have this too.

Agreed, in-game support is great.  But with all the new players the response time of 15-30 minutes has gone over 24 hours now :(

I've also found that technical support is very good too.  You can basically email back and forth with tech folks and get issues fixed via the new petition system.

My experiences after launch with Sigil were horrid. I waited sometimes 2 days for a response and sometimes never even received a response at all. I give complete credit to Moonlite for turning the in-game support around. There were very few things that made me happy in game after SOE took over, but CS was definitely one of them. Although, I did receive support from some GMs that were not very familiar with the VG game play, I always received a timely response and conclusive action. I'm sure it has only gotten better if they have been able to maintain a GM staff that has gained experience with common issues.

Support in VG is top notch, and Moonlite deserves all the credit in my opinion.
