No, you don't get into the beta instantly if you pre-order now. In fact, I don't even think the pre-order kits are even available in stores yet, though you can still reserve the game.
From my experiences with mmorpgs...I learned to never preorder a game.
There's nothing more irritating knowing a game went live and then you have to wait an additional 2 to 3 days because their shipment hasn't come in yet lol. I never pre-ordered a mmorpg...but from official forums of those who did pre-ordered was never happy.
While I am playing the first day of release...people who had pre-ordered theirs are twiddling their thumbs. Not saying it's always like this...but you're gonna gamble hard core. The worst stores that does this is EB and BestBuy.

lol we should switch places.
Because where I lived (Fredericksburg, VA and Memphis, TN) EB sucked when it came to releases and Gamestop always had them the night before servers went live or the very next morning

YA but is the ability gonna be like the one in COH, all it was was an animation surrounding you when you sprinted, you didnt go faster then sprint, just looked better so the free power was realy useless.
lol in my opinion, i dont care if we get just in game shades for our character or something like that. just being able to play the game 3 days early is gonna be worth it to me. Im tryin not to go insane just from waiting on it to be released :P
Also I have had very bad experiences with EB games in Georgia. I pre-ordered a game one time and they never even got the pre-order items for the game. I plan to pre-order MxO but I'll probably do it with like one day overnight shipping so i get it the day i should, not a week after everyone else starts playing. Also if anyone in the Atlanta area knows a good place to pre-order from please send me a message, id appreciate it
To enter the Beta when you pre order is probably for the stress test which is usually around 4-5 weeks prior to launch. Blizzard is early with their stress test but they are actually trying to release a steady balanced game unlike most companies.
However none of the Devs of MxO have ever mentioned anything about joining Beta with pre-order.
i preordered mxo thru ebgames.com and am having them ship it to an ebgames which happens to be close to me. i saved myself 7 usd (U. S. Dollars) and eliminated the chances of mail being late. the in-game bonus for pre-ordering will be revealed this friday, september 10. pre-orderers will be allowed into the live game 3 days before non-pre-orders. the site does say that pre-orderers will be allowed into the beta, but it does not give any hint as to when that may be.
And the special ability is..... HYPER JUMP! its not a unique thing just for Pre-Orders but pre-orders don't have to earn it! i think this was a good idea!
Hyper jump will be sweet! But yea i plan on preordering it from a gamestop store since im am employee at one. We tend to get our games up here from the night they ship to the next morning and like stuff with madden we got 3 days early and well halo 2 and san andreas is goin to be somthing else lol so aslong as its not pushed back we should b getting this in good time

That doesn't make sense, because on of the pre-order extras for MxO is that you can play 3 days before everyone else. I'm gonna pre-order, but I'm going to preorder from an actual store.
I pre-ordered from EB games the other day, when you pre-order there is no additional information regarding the beta access or anything else so don't expect to get an email letting you into beta right away or anything like that. They are still in closed beta so it may be a while till the stress test. When I ordered they hadn't and still have not nailed down what all will be included as a bonus for pre-ordering, it's still being talked about but the in game item, the hyper jump code sounds like a good place to start, the rest might just be pie in the sky who knows.
ooo... i got some info.... straight from mxo.walrus himself...
People who preorder The Matrix Online will get a card inside their preorder box with details on registering their contact information with us. That information, along with a preorder code, will be used to deliver information about the preorder exclusives.
So, as long as you receive your preorder box, it doesn't matter where you ordered from -- you'll have what you need.
