Didn't get to mess around with much/any of the guild functions at all during the stress test. Anyone have an unbiased breakdown of what all guilds can do?
Basically I am wondering if guilds in WoW can have housing? Make cities?
What I am curious about is what function other than getting groups does a guild have? You already know your enemies, they are either the horde or alliance respectively. For me this takes out one of my favorite aspects of any game, the politics.
What also is the purpose of PvP at this point? I only see it as an access to the high level mob spawns.

though i'm not in any beta, i do know that Player housing hasn't been implemented yet. all we know is that it will be in by retail. since i'm not in beta i can not answer you're question about PvP, but i presume the being able to fight another player, as the name PvP sugggests. Player versus Player
I guess what I am looking for is an end-game purpose for PvP. I know that you do it so that you can kill other PC characters, but is that all? Are their any lasting rewards, goals?

I ran a guild through the stress test, and the system as it stands is great with a lot of features but it'd be nice to see built-in message boards - I don't like the idea of having to make a website just to keep guild members up to date.
There'll be no housing (notwithstanding an expansion), and the PVP/raiding reward systems will be implemented before the game goes retail, but I haven't been able to find details of what they'll entail.
