EQII euro beta email is false?

Hi all, 1st time poster, but long time reader.
I just received a email from SOE to join the euro beta, great, so I follow the link in the email and enter my SOE login details enter the key, and nope doesnt work.
The email is from: gandalf.sony-online.com, subject: EverQuest II - Beta Invitation.
Was wondering if this is known to be a ruse to get SOE accounts or is it correct and maybe the site hasnt been updated to accept the new beta keys.
Kinda worried when it didnt work, wouldnt want someone stealing my SOE account info and stripping my EQ characters.
Any info would be a great help, TIA

SoE betas have been plagued with false emails.So you have to watch out.Ppl usually use it to steal log in and then try numerous SoE mmorpg to see which fits.
However it is true that EQ2 beta invitation are soon to be sent to UK residents.But just make sure it links to offical site b4 putting in your details.
well sony-online.com is indeed registrered to sony entertainment.
if the mail was to gandalf@sony-online.com then you prolly safe.
On the other hand, as your post dont say really if it was something@gandalf.sony-online.com then check your station account.

Somewhat same issue, key doesn't work.

The email adressee is station-mailer@sony-online.com.
Yeah got same here, got the email, tried the link, entered key all I got is
I'm sorry but the key you entered is not a valid Friends and Family key.

All the header etc. check out, probably just the wrong url to check in the email or they'v enot synched the keys yet, i'm sure it'll get sorted by end of the weekend.
Seems they've accetped everyone who applied, all my friends who applied got accepted
Just keep an eye on this forum here, lots of people with same prolem, once it's resolve i'm sure it'll be posted there

Yes i just checked my email and got the same.
So followed the links and it indeed links to the offical site so it is safe.
Also checked the tech forum and seems many are having the same problem.
And yes it says my key is invalid.So it is an offical/real thing.And yes there is a problem but we might have to wait till monday for it to be resolved.
Well lets look at it this way we got into EQ2 beta!And since its a general problem it will be resolved in a few days .So have patience and keep an eye on the forums.

Don't worry, when the next comp ends at 9pm EST and we're all in bed you'll have your revenge when none of us can respond to the compo emails
