This is the nail in the coffin. We will never get the first good mmo.

You were? That's so cool me too, what was your video entry? You seem like a really experienced gamer there.
I take it you're responding to me since I think I was the only positive response in this thread!
My video was that I loved Japan and Hello Kitty while wearing a super-rare pink, hello kitty lanyard, at least in the US the pink one was never released, that I know of...! I had a friend from Japan get it for me from an event and send it over!
There's just something cute about Hello Kitty, and the information about the game so far sounds really promising. I can't believe I missed the beta!
Then again, I enjoy playing finished games, not debugging half-completed products, so I always skip betas.... and I don't buy any game until it's been out for a few months so they can iron out the bugs. Good job that Hello Kitty Online is free!
Then the Prinny Squad will load it up when Master Etna isn't breathing down our necks. Or destroying us.
It looks more entertaining than most of the games on the "Coming Soon" list anyway. No, Earthrise, you're still the best on the list, but call me back when its 2009. We'll hang out then, dood.
I was in the beta, there are no classes, but you could turn into something like a master gardenere for instance. There is a small element of combat but it's really not the focus. The emphasis is skills, improve your skill and you become a master at it, like cooking, gardening or lumbering.
Effectiveness of character depends on skills, pets and the strength of your guild, at least when you build stuff together, doing it in a guild at the same time (kind of like a party system) makes it much more effective, you start with a free farm but the house needs to be built, you need to gather materials, money and friends to finish a house.
Here's a screenshot, the video function is tied into sanriotown, so it's a bit like a youtube inside the game.
Thanks for sharing some of the insights, so what is this shot, people working together constructing your house? How long did it take, what did you have to do to get it made?
It takes days to make it, if you do it on your own I went on it for eons and hours but with friends you could do it in half a day, you have to collect all sorts of materials, but them (so you need to grow plants and fruits and other resources) then you either turn them into stuff (like juice) and sell it for more, or you sell the raw materials to someone or the shop to buy the land, materials etc.
I've gotten really excited over games that turned out to be complete garbage. I'll give it a go. If it is good, I will play. If it is not, I will not. Why do we have to complicate the issue?
Galgamememnon, it's not just for us Kitty fans, its for everyone who wants a change! I just watched Kung Fu Panda (good movie, funny too) and I enjoy Toy Story as an adult just as much as I would hmmm, say Lord of the Rings.

yup, yup its a great game
Yeehaa, I decided to do what no man dared do before, blog about this in MMORPG.COM!
This is going to be fun
I want to play this game so bad it hurts! lol
Anyone in the know or who was in the beta, could you confirm a few things for me?
There are no classes, right? So no warrior, mage, whatever the equivalents would be in Hello Kitty? (tea-maker? fur-groomer?)
How effective your character is depends on your skills primarily?
Everyone gets a farm and a house right away... but you have to build your house first?
I can't wait to see how they build in video functionality. Has anyone seen that yet?

Epic battles with the Starfish and Armadillos...
Finally an answer to our prayers....
No wonder God hides if this is what people pray for.
