"We are incredibly pleased to see Age of Conan turning into an MMO phenomenon," said Gaute Godager, game director on Age of Conan.
And from all reports the subs keep increasing, amazing launch so far for AoC. Looks like a huge succes story for Funcom !

I figure same thing. Looks like the hardcore AoC lovers from the official forum are migrating. I can't blame them though. The AoC forums are brutal! I honestly haven't seen such anger and outright hostility in a long long time. I used to think the WoW forums were bad..Enter at own risk baby! PvP!

I think its rather different from:
"Funcom has announced that more than 700,000 accounts are active for its PC MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures."
I know for a fact that me and 8 from the 13 real life friends that started AoC together on Battlescar server, stopped after 3 weeks. My account is still active since i used a gamecard, but i am defenetly not playing the game anymore.

Did the OP even read the article...best selling...that means at that moment not all time. The record was for the most pre-orders supposedly not for sales.

Yes, it's a known fact that Age of Conan broke the all time record for any MMO release with their sales. That doesn't take into account the fact that the MMO market is almost a million times greater than it was during that major releases.
Age of Conan broke World of Warcraft's previous record by an extraordinary amount, but when World of Warcraft was released MMOs were only a niche-nerd market. Enjoy your padded information.
FACT: At release Age of Conan's server posted numbers of 3000+ active people on at any given time.
FACT: Currently Age of Conan's servers are holding a steady number of 1500+ active people at any given time.
FACT: Stop posting these stupid threads. Age of Conan was a fun game, I would love to play this game and would love to just PvP in it all day. But that doesn't change the fact that there's been little to no end game content, there was a patch that made the game completely unplayable for me for 2 entire weeks (which I didn't even get account credit for), the game runs like complete balls on some of the best systems, and over half of the original development team is on a new project.
I'm glad you're so enthralled by this game, but past the level 1 to 30 gameplay, this game begins falling short. It's still nearly impossible to do a city siege, and moreso, if you do a city siege you will not be able to actually play it unless you're running a super fast computer.

please make a poll in general discussion to find out how many players quit after the first month and you will see supbro, and i notice you are not replying to the more thought-out posts

the 700k number is AFTER the first month, its the total games activated. that number counted the people who quit after the first month, even though the number was given after the first month.
yes, that number counted people who had already quit the game. no we aren't forgetting people who purchased the game after the free month, they are included in the 700k number. so "700k minus all the people who quit after the free month" is in fact, true.
like I said guys, its protus, the whole "don't lie liers are bad blah blah" thing its a dead giveaway.

A couple of people posting about leaving on a message board means nothing in the big picture. Most of the casuals are having fun in-game and don't even visits boards like this. Please keep things in perspective.

And please do not simply copy and paste comments from another forum. You are adding nothing to the discussion and your posts are beyond ignorant. And posts like these are why many people are leaving the game and community and until you fanbois wake up and see what state the game is in, you will only get a shell of a broken game.
You are not the type of consumer Funcom is targeting, a hardcore finish the game in a week type player. The game is for the casual gamer, built for the casual gamer. All the people i have talked to love the game. Your missing out on some great siege battles, too bad for you

And we wonder why no other games make it to the market, its people stopping it not the game. Do you realy want to be stuck with Wow for the next 50 years!!!!
And yes im comparing it to Wow as probably 99% of people moaning about AOC are from WOW, Go back there, let people who enjoy conan play it with out all the childishness.
