ok I'll bite because Jestor's thread are always a bit around humour. You know that lots of those vets that returned have never been officers...and those that reached officer status in the past lost it in the period they have been unsubscribed (there is gcw status decay). I'm not talking if the number of officers is high or low, I don't really know what % of a server population reach that status, probably it depends on each server. Oh and AoC seem to be another fuckup by Funcom, heavyly advertised game not delivering.
Game plays very well its not at benny hill speed but its got a great combat system..
missions run smooth yet to see one not working unlike some other gameing companys.
that is all..
You know, I would like to try AOC but have a few general questions. I am a huge fan of the Conan novels, but my computer is several years old and I heard my PC would struggle to run the game. Even playing SWG I have to set my stuff pretty low...
In your opinion, how much of a system hog is it?
im running a duel core but i think i need bigger guns for this one.

I'd recommend waiting several months before giving AoC a go. There are a ton of technical issues than need to be addressed, and a ton of content that was promised prior to release that seems to have been shoved aside while the developers focus on fiddling with the classes (SWG's release deja vu).
AoC has potential, much like SWG once had. The AoC development team seems to be doing their best to make sure that potential is not reached, much like SWG's development teams have done since the game was released.
I have a AMD 64 X2 dual cor 4200+, 2 gigs of RAM, and a Geforce 8600 GT. The game runs really well on the low graphics setting (I play most games on low graphics since I get motion sickness with better textures for some reason) on my system, until a patch makes random freezing happen, which is about every other patch (usually the next one clears it up).
I wouldn't really recommend AoC at this point, unless the only other game you could possibly play is SWG, since SWG is horrid.
Actually most comps can run AoC fairly well. Most people run on full high, mater of fact that is the main reccomendations on the forums. by running on high most people see and magor increase in frame rate. The main thing to know is to put you shaders at 2.0 and turn the shadows off. After that runs like a charm for most people.

they also nefted my class and its not in the patch notes lol or more like it broke it
they seem to have taken the $OE hand book on what not to do to your paying player base and they are adding hole new chapters to it lol.....
i may check in on it in 6 months if its still around lol
