Okay I have been playing the stress test silently soloing and got into a couple of groups. I cant wait for the game to come out more than ever before; it is exactly what I expected and what I wanted from the game. The graphics and game play put me right in a FANTASY world and for me thats what I was looking for.
Then I see other posts of people criticizing the game because there is nothing new, I see lots of old and NEW blended in the game. Then I see people say they uninstalled in three
days
youre kidding right?? Unless you really tried the game in depth PLEASE dont post your opinions

My conclusion, this game is for people who are not looking for THE game that will change your world. When the reality is that game will never come. We live in a society that continually wants more. Most of the people who criticize WoW, EQ2, Guild wars, and the plethora of other games that come into the market are because they have played too many games or have to high of expectations.
These people are looking for a game that is so specific that they will never find it. I want a game that has all new features. Wont happen because the game companies know the old ones work, best you can hope for is a blend. I want this and this and this and .you get the point.
So I guess what I am saying is people need to start thinking before they post what they post. Are you saying what you are thinking because you really dont like the game play and graphics or are you expectations so high there is NO game that will satisfy you? How many of you out there had Great expectations of SWG and Horizons, only to walk away disgusted because it wasnt what you wanted?
So I ask this politely and with great respect for the other MMORPGs out there, please stop trolling into there other areas and making other gamers miserable because your expectations a to high, we like our games and you dont have to play them. WoW is the right game for me and I set realistic expectations for the game, host of games are coming out between October and December, the fans that are going to play them are set. Stop trying to convince us we are going to like your game better, we found our game and its not yours. Leave us in peace to enjoy it.
(Back to reality, now that I have said what I have said let the clueless begin the flames sigh)

I hate when SOE fanboys .....cough..crock..cough cough are flaming games because "hey we will have EQ2".
Im currently playing AO, and i hate when someone writes "boo SWG is better" i mean, who the heck in this universe says SWG is better than AO (yup, you can laugh

I don't mean this to be a flame of one game or another, just a polite please think before you write, for all the games out there. I felt it needed to be said, I just happen to like WoW...Thanks for the replies.
Nice post. I agreed with it, especially when you say we all have our preferences and some people expect too much from mmorpgs.
I have a clear idea of what type of setting I like the game to be in and of certain features inthat game, but otherwise, I am not looking for the ONE game. I realistically don't think there will ever be one for me because the majority of players out there (who the game makers focus on) would not like it.
I haven't tested WoW at all so I can't comment, but I agree that a fair amount of time must be spent on a mmorpg to accurately describe and critize it. That's not to say that someone cannot like the game after just 3 days, that is understandable, but to come on forums to tell other people that the game sucks and they should not play it, based on 3 days, is silly.

Now, why on the world would you go and take a great thread and then ruin it by "provoking" a fight for those who like EQ2.
He likes WoW...that's awesome, good for him and I trust he'll love it. But don't go and make potshots against people who like EQ2....you're only provoking flames on this thread to occur.

The game can be fun, it is polished. It has a nice crafting system. But truth of the matter is, it's a level grind. Even the PvP servers are watered down. And the whole instancing thing can keep you away from any confrontation for a while if you want. You don't lose anything when you die, so PvP is not painful, nor is it rewarding.
Unless they institute a old school style UO/AC1 Darktide-esque PvP server. I don't think i'll be playing. I've played every level grind out there. And personally I don't wanna do it again.

yes why ruin it for that guy if he likes the game and wants to play it then he likes it .. dont tell him it sucks etc.. just because you dont like it.

Not ye I have 3 freinds that are going to join me in retail, we want to work together for a bit and then try to find a guild that fits our style of play. Know any guild boards that would have general info? Thanks for asking, we are thinking of it in the future.
The Guild Im involved in is top-notch. Kunou is the Guild leader (staff member here). They'll have a guild presence in Both EQ2 and in WoW.

No I said the game is right for me and the other games you like are right for you...I did not say everyone should play WoW. Once againread before you post...this is exactly what I am talking about...people lash out to hurt other people around here without being objective a reading the posts. Well i never got to play any test on WoW but from what i've heard it seems likes it's going to be a great game and I honestly can't wait to play. That's my opinion and I think that all opinions should be welcomed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Most everyone here is interested in all MMORPGs, thus, the point of this website. They aren't here for WoW or EQ2 only, because there are many websites for JUST those games. This site is for people who want to explore them all, or at least several, and they get their information here. People's opinions are what makes this website's forums good to check out for people interested in MMORPGs. ALL opinions, even the "SWG pwns, u suck" type show at least what the vocal people are interested in.
The negative posts about the games are just a way that people can let others know what things about the game they didn't like. I want them and most of the people on this site also want them. If you don't have them, then it's just advertising.

But my opinion is that WoW isnt all that great.
I downed the game because I played it and didnt think it was all that great. I expressed my opinion on why. That means J is being a hypocrite because he is saying I cant express my opinion becuase he disagrees with it.
