the good news is that in a years time the graphics wont be outdated so we can try again then if we haven't found a home. maybe they'll have fixed all the bugs, added in much needed content, rework the raids to actually make them fun/interesting, balenced the classes somewhat, and fix the server performance/stability. i guess we'll see.

Well considering, Funcom's abysmal support policies combined with the lack of content in the higher levels of the game isn't it obvious to anyone that a good majority will not resuscribe?

Hey if you like the game, have fun and continue playing, for most of us there are far better games to get our enjoyment from.  Personally I think that once two months have passed it will be over 80% of those original suscribers not resuscribing.

Yes I did. This with LotRO should keep me entertained until WAR comes out.

I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.

Man, I really hope WAR doesn't disappoint like AoC did. People complain that WAR is a WoW clone, but if its anywhere near as good and fun as WoW was while I played, I'll be a happy gamer. The AoC crowd is afraid of WAR, since it may be a nail in the coffin for Conan, if FC can't man-up and get their stuff together in time. I personally just want a good PvP / RvR type game in the spirit of DAOC, I hope to hell Mythic delivers!

AoC is the newest Vanguard fiasco in my opinion. Then again, VG has improved a ton from what I hear. I may even go back to VG to wait out WAR's release.

Yes. But I spend more time playing another game.

Polls about AoC on these boards only measure how active the people that hate the game are, rather than the relative success (or not). Like it or not, they are simply not representative of the player base.

Many of the people that vote don't even play the game & the haters seem to be far more motivated & have more time on their hands than the supporters because the latter are either just not interested in flame wars or potentially are too busy playing.

It doesn't matter how much people that dislike AoC wish otherwise, the simple fact is that a biased poll with only a few hundred votes doesn't demonstrate anything apart from how much they want it to fail. At least the OP here was trying to stay neutral though.

At the moment, at least half the flame wars are based on false data & speculation because no-one really knows the truth about even simple things like subscription levels.

Rather than waste time getting so worked up about the alleged proportion of subscribers that have already quit, why don't people just chill out & wait for the real data to become available.

After all, whoever wins can still post about how right they were in a few months time.

Personally, I hope it does well because I enjoy playing the game. If I didn't then I would simply find something else to do rather than waste time complaining about it for months, but as the saying goes "Whatever Floats Your Boat"!

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

I downloaded it from official site, selected paying option "pay by cash". Then they wait  3 days for your money transfer. Then automatically block your account if no money transfered. (I tried it in end of May)
2 days were enough for me :)
Btw, this is good option to try this game without paying anything to funcom cause they didnt allow buddypasses.

I did buy the game & actually like it, sorry you didn't.

That's not the reason I am posting though, I just wanted to congratulate you on your very shrewd method of getting a free trial.

This post is made of win.

MMORPG.com forums are a cesspool, hardly any good info to be found here, and NEVER any in threads like this...

These are the words of someone who doesnt know what they want, you compare AoC to VG in the way they were released, which is way of the mark by the way, and then say you want to go back to VG!

AoC crowd is not afraid of WAR or any other MMO tbh, it is a niche game that is different from most of the rest.

True. AOC "crowd" currently is most afraid of the new patches from FC .

Might want to cut EQ2 from that list , it was in worse condition than AOC . They had to revamp the game to get it to where it is today.

    Canceled as of last weekend.

Ya right. If i remember right it was revamped because it was to hard for most to play. The crafting was cut to shreds to keep the the winners happy, again another great crafting system shot to hell. WHY? because it was to hard for the whiners. now any blowjoe can craft a set of armor in minutes. Like most games that have anything worthwhile in it.  trust me, it will get ripped until the whiners win regardless.  EQ, Vanguard,

Dark and light, SWG. EQ2. i dint know about EvE but i bet it has been changed as well. mommmmmy my popsicle is to cold......If you do not like to craft then leave it to the ones that do.  There is a ton of other items to pick on, LIKE graphics and the such go pick on those. who needs em anyways.

i dont know one person thats tried it that has stayed after the first month . in fact most have said to avoid it because its a broken game . shame really i think everyone wanted to like this .

  • BigdavoBigdavo Member UncommonPosts: 1,863

Absolutely hated this game for the 1st month, on the last day before my subscription ran out and I was sure I was about to cancel I decided to have one last crack... I pushed past all the bullshit and now I'm quite enjoying it.

How long this enjoyment will last I have no idea, ultimately it's in Funcoms hands if they can deliver promised features and content.

I am also on the lookout for WAR as a smart gamer and not a hyped gamer.

    O_o o_O

I selected Yes but if there was an option for quitting after paying for one month I would have selected that. My sub ends the 27th of this month.
