A bit funny at first, but then it becomes hella funny when you read number 5 and 6:

It could be and was set to be...but Funcom is totally blowing it and the game will be lucky...no I take that back...it'll win all kinds of stupid awards whether it deserves it or not. What we players should do is start a campaign of our own the way we did withthe NGE. Go to such websites like Amazon, Gamestop and put up reviews with one star. That way AoC can go the way of SWG and AC2 and the rest of the games like it.
I really hate to say it, but Funcom is as bad as SOE.
It could be and was set to be...but Funcom is totally blowing it and the game will be lucky...no I take that back...it'll win all kinds of stupid awards whether it deserves it or not. I have to agree with this. They have no idea wtf they are doing and their director is completely clueless about the state of the game and the community. They are trying very hard to suppress all negativity on the official forums by hiring even more fanboi mods hoping to lure even more poor souls with their promise of boobies and blood.
The game was released unfinished and hyped with lies and deceit. In most markets, that would be grounds for some sort of a lawsuit. Hell, I may be going a bit overboard with this, but the people in charge need to be arrested. They knowingly and willingly scammed people with lies about their product. It's basically fraud. Yes, it's a game and it only costs $50 but they made millions fraudulently promoting their game.

Any game that gets given awards is clearly worthy... therefor you are NOT WORTHY for even questioning such a thing.
Even awards given to games months prior to release based on an artists impression of a screenshot at a games conference.

Next you will be suggesting that games reviewers are somehow wrong when they think 7.5 is 'average' on a 1 to 10 scale?

AOC in no shape or form deserves to get anywhere near Game of the Year. AOC will not standup to Aion, StarGate Worlds and War. Aion will show the way what polish means.

Game of the year no f'ing way, but the MMORPG genre is sucking swamp water it looks like. I don't get too many warm fuzzies from CoS, Aeon or WAR at the moment, and I do hope at least one of those surprises me. So unless Cheyenne pulls one out of the nether regions with Stargate the sad truth is AoC might be the best MMORPG released this year. Otherwise I will alternate between EQII and LoTRO for a long time to come.

Because game is in beta at Korea and testers said it was so polished what could be released months ago, but developer's want to make even better which could amaze all. Guys from US who getted in beta said what is a very good and polished coming hit.
Aion may be polished, but westerners will have a hard time with the artistic design.
I mean there is only so much purple and pulsating white light you can take before you throw up.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe they aren't clueless. They know full well what goes on in the forums and probably even the game. The difference between us and them is we get caught up in all the forum garbage and they don't, some of us let others opinions influence our decision making process on whether we should try out a game or jump on the next bus back to carebear er I mean WOW .
Sure you can file a lawsuit against them, but keep in mind that they aren't bound by the same laws you and I may be bound to and remember it is just a game, its not surgery or your job..this isn't a life altering horrific accident...
I love how bad these forums are flamed now, sad when people have nothing better to do. Anyways, I agree it's not Game of The Year material. Though I have not seen a better game so far this year, one will come out. I am still enjoying AoC, so I am fine with the game. As far as content etc, I am level 30 on 3 chars and have clocked over 80 hours in the game.. Well worth the $50 and the $15 considering a 2 hour movie costs $9 + food and drinks.

GoTY? No. Good game if you're up for that kind of non-high fantasy, non-cartoony setting? It will be in 6 months, and the content will be finished in about a year.
We used to believe the same thing with SWG back in 2003 and 2004. Yep, we believed for a while.

Um... are the Beta Testers restricted by a level cap? (I think we may have seen that trick before?)
And did any of the people you are supposedly getting your info from use the phrase "the Devs know best..." at any point?

The reason I said that they are clueless is because the changes that they are making with each patch are not really fixing anything but are actually making the game worse. I understand that they follow a certain design document but it needs to be changed to fix the pressing issues first. Just to give you an example, they are doing class balancing when a lot of the feats don't work. It makes no sense.
The beta process made no sense either, at any given time they had at least 2 or 3 different beta clients for each group. The closed beta testers had one client, the internal testers supposedly had a client that was a few version ahead and had all of the fixes for the closed beta client. And when they had the Fileplanet open beta, the client was a few versions older than the closed beta client. The tech beta was a complete travesty. The poor tech testers were expected to download a 15GB file to stress test a certain feature for 3 hours once, sometimes twice, a month.
As far as laws go, if they are doing business in the US, they are bound by the same laws as any other US corporation.
As far as this being just a game, you're absolutely right. But at the same time, these people got very rich by lying to customers. If Kevin Trudeau, the guy who wrote "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About", was convicted of fraud, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Basically, it's about where are we going to draw the line? Sure, it's just a game and that's just a cell phone, and that's just a car... but there is a reason why these laws exsist - to protect us, the consumers, from fraudulent actions by corporations.

Well said, I hope some one does file a lawsuit against them. This kind of crap needs to stop when in comes to software especially games.
