Don't put so much stake in a game and you won't feel this way.  If you don't like a game don't buy it (or quit playing it) and move on to something else.

BTW, it's entirely possible you will feel "lied too (sic), cheated, and ripped off" when D3 comes out.  Unlikely, but possible.

That being said, I will be picking up D3, but won't give up on mmos.

Diablo 3 isnt an mmo replacement...

YOu play diablo 3 when your current mmo is frustrating you for the day, your game is on weekly maitenance.. or if you are like me with a strong computer, have it running in a  window and play it when you are going to lfg.

I plan on buying diablo 3 when it releases but i will be playing warhammer as well.

Yeah I actually do hope Warhammer is good.  Everyone needs something to grab them by the balls again...something new.   AOC left such a bad taste in my mouth.  Not the game, but the lying, sneaky bastards at funcom.  I hope they go bankrupt.  But Diablo 3 looks like it has some promise.  The video was kick ass.

I've been waiting 7 years for diablo3. It won't stop me from playing MMOs but it will be a game that i would play when i need a break from WAR.

Not playing an MMO right now......But after playing D2 and getting totally burned out by act 4 I doubt I'll pick up 3

All my mates seem to be BIG Blizzard fans so even though I never liked a Dibalo game in the past I'll give Diablo 3 a shot with them online. It's really nice to see a game with sooo much colour these days after the Gears of War trend with lots of grey and browns being used.

D3 will not just be an offline game, but it will also become and online game as well. I didnt buy D2 to play by meself, I played it online with my friends.

Diablo III will be the same as II. Only more shiny. I could see people using this as replacement to an MMORPG, since it is an MORPG.

I need something with dedicated servers, battle.net just doesn't cut it for me.

    Waiting for:

    -Games-
    -Re-Launch of Hellgate:London US/EU Servers
    -Diablo 3

    -A PvE centric MMORPG with-
-Fast paced twitch-action combat that requires hand-eye coordination, where you can manually aim your attacks instead of having to acquire/lock target(s) first.
-FPS-style WASD and mouse control that determine your overall success when attacking or defending.

Diablo 3 looks awesome and I will definitely play it. However, I doubt it will completely replace MMORPGs for me.

In any case, I am giving my money to Blizzard anyway. Hopefully the next MMO from them is starcraft.

i will most definitively get D3 when it comes out, and i will most likely drop any MMO that i am currently playing until the day they stop making level based MMORPGs and go back to the good old system of sandbox skill set. (when i have more time to spend on a computer game im definitively going back to eve.) but for now an easy going lotro is enough to fix my gaming addiction.

Oh.. It isn't...? That's how I play? Really?.. Well, ok.

I will probably play D3 like crazy when it comes out! Can't wait!

I can say with 100% certainty that when D3 comes out i'll drop whatever i'm doing to play it.. I'm an old school gamer and played D1 and D2 religiously when they came out, no way i'd miss out on playing the long awaited 3rd game. Would be awesome if the game had an age restriction of 18+ in it so little kids can't play and foul it up like what happened to WoW.. how nice would that be? Not gonna happen but in a better world, it would.

Its amazing how only Diablo can cause such a ruckas in an MMO site.

  • Moaky07Moaky07 Member Posts: 2,096

Hopefully D3 can live up to its namesake.

D1 and D2 were some of the best singleplayer games I ever owned...still have em till this very day.

you are tired of level based MMORPGs and will sustitute them for Diablo?

  • QSatuQSatu Member UncommonPosts: 1,796

People complain mmos are grindy, boring. Quests are lame and you only kill mobs and yet they are waiting for a grindy, hack n slash game .. umm.. yeah whatever.

I will be propably playing D3 and mmos..

  • HrothmundHrothmund Member Posts: 1,061

Frankly speaking, I'm moving on to ping-pong. Now that's a game with class!

I don't think Diablo 3 will be a good susbtitue for a MMO. Maybe, just maybe, one might get away with just playing Diablo 3 for the first couple of weeks after release. After that, I would be greatly surprised if the game did not become too monotonous for most.

  • BizkitNLBizkitNL Member RarePosts: 2,546

As with the previous titles, I'lle be playing D3 untill I pass out. Only to get up and play more!

Seriously, it depends whats on the market at that particular time. I'm a Diablo fan......and since MMO's have dissapointed me uptill now (Excluding WoW and PS).......
