Very interesting time frame considering when champions was announced, it had only been in production a short while (announced in Feb 08ish, claiming only 1 year development thusfar) leading me to believe they scrapped the Marvel mmo entirely.  Given they're still talking such an aggressive time frame of only maybe 2.5 years, I can't imagine they've developed everything from the ground up.

Well, I expect at least one pushback myself. Like you say, it just seems very unbelievably fast if they've only been in production for as long as they have (unless their team is as big as Blizzard's).

Most likely some of the features or engine development (Cryptic's new engine being used for Champions Online) was being developed when they first started production on Marvel Universe Online (which was scrapped, since Microsoft pulled out) in 2006.

Though, still, a year and a half of development does seem considerably small for an MMO. However, that's only when the ANNOUNCED the production of Champions Online.

MUO (marvel online) announced production in mid 2007, whilst production actually started sometime 2006 (as they've so told).

They've been signed by 2K games.

So production has started for real.

All release dates are just speculation by the industry. Too Human for the Xbox was suppose to come out for the Playstation back in 1997. They even had a trailer for it at E3 stating it.

Would've been funny as hell if NCSoft picked it up.
