I was thinking on whether or not to give this game a try. I remember at launch a lot of people were very disappointed with it. Along with the hate for SOE, It got bad reviews and a bad rep.
So im asking if it has gotten any better since launch.
Please. No SOE blows posts or VG fanboy posts.. Just give me some good answers.

I tried the Open Beta directly before launch. I absolutely hated the game.
I started Vanguard back up a few weeks ago (using the free time that most players were given). I absolutely love the game.
Is that straight forward enough?
Truly, though, this is the first game since my very first MMO (DAoC), besides WoW (which I stayed in because I had RL friends that played), that has held my interest at all. I broke my all time high for hours played straight in one day on the first day I jumped back on.
of course it has improved in many mnay ways.
Major bugs are gone. Major means, game crashes, massive hitching all the time, zone crashes, chat problems, grouping issues, loot issues, etc.
There are more quests and complete content to lvl 50 and a very large raid dungeon.
Brotherhoods, caravan, looking for groups, find guild, guild ui have all either been added or enhanced.
Flying mounts are in as cheap rentals anyone can use for 5 minutes or you can do quests to get permanent ones.
Boats and housing are both in and working.
A rift system has been added allowing for teleports between major cities and quest hubs
Crafting is complete to lvl 50
Diplomacy has been rebalanced and has a lot more content. It can still use more to lvl 50.
The broker system is in and working.
I've notice that many mobs have been moved and some areas that had huge agro issues with large groups of mobs have been fixed so you can get managable pulls.
Death system has been tweaked so you can summon your tombstone with a loss of XP or you can do the CR to get items and most of the xp loss.
There has been other things no doubt but that is a few to ponder.

I finally was able to get the game downloaded and played without a CTD. Visited the tech forums and solved that problem quickly.
I also started at launch and didn't enjoy it too much. The bugs and other things like previous posters stated.
The starting quests were kind of blah to me this weekend. But, once I left the starting area I am having much more fun now. Last time I played a HE Ranger. This time playing HE Paladin. Having a blast.
Plus I'm into it because I still have a whole world to explore...didn't get very far at all the first time around.
OK
thought this game was dead. Couldn't play VG, couldn't stay on vg because of bugs, hitching, lagspikes, small cty, fanboys saying game was perfect and polished. Became a VG,'s hater
Took 1 month after AOC's release because i've been very disappointed by Fc's product.
Since may, i play only 1 game: Vanguard. Not perfect, needs more and more bug fixes, but playable, very cool . Great and huge world.
Really impressive.
Can say this game is GREAT. And more interesting than AOC and War... (i'm a pvp player . So for the pvp, gonna take DAOC again. DAOC and Vg, some of the bests mmos.)
Wait for the GU6 and the trial (isle of dawn)
I've been playing off and on since open beta (resubbed twice, but second time was cas' of lacking the time and not game issues). I've liked the game since the beginning cas' of it's enormous potential, but admit the launch was horrible, many bugs and performance issues (and I had a higher-end system). Now the game is where it should be, with good performance, lots of quest & content, many new improvements (and many more to come), etc. The only thing lacking is the lack of love on the pvp server, needs a meaninful system and boost in population. The Seradon & Xeth servers have plenty of players (not sure about the Euro server). My head spins around sometimes on the options to do while in game, do I craft, do I raid, diplo, finish my quest, finish my house or boat, pvp my enemies, etc.
I'm having a blast!
Just subbed after playing in AoC for over a month... i like AoC for what it is but it lacks much after the combat side... this game is huge and open and has many sides to it... I dunno how it was at launch but it feels good now, still a few bugs and stuff but the GMs are really helpful and quick (despite claiming there behind, quite the opposite of Funcom).
I hope that in 6 months i can return and be as happy with AoC as i am with this.
I played the game at launch for about 3 weeks and cancelled due to the crazy number bugs and my machine couldn't handle the game in its current state. the game was not ready for launch, that was pretty obvious. anyway...
I logged into my account last week (since soe gave me 30 days free or whatever, they sooo nice lol) and jumped on my level 14 bard. One week later I have cancelled my conan account.
Also, just fyi, a free trial is going to be available within the next few weeks, I think this is really going to bring a lot of new people into the game. I totally recommend trying it out,. or just wait to the free trial. they have done a great job of fixing many of the bugs and I can even run the game on high settings. i'm staying here for a while, for now.
Seems like Vanguard is really starting to climb in the MMORPG rankings. Pretty unusual for a game that fell so hard at launch over a year ago. Kinda exciting to see what happens when GU6 comes out.
