What do you expect in beta, there working hard on the xbox-360 release and a new MMO project. As much time as possible is spent moderating the Funcom forums.

That's the most stupid game mechanic i ever witness. If you don't want peoples higher level farm bosses lower then them, just turn off the loot when they grey.
I can honestly say I've only been killed by the ape king once, and that was when i first started playing. Anyone that dies to him who just started playing must really suck.
My question would be, how the f*** does a damn ape do holy damage or even more, how does it do bladestorm??

Yea because anyone who takes 2000 damage at level 5 and dies is a bad player, right? BTW this is the same for most mini-bosses, most of them can one shot you now. I guess Funcom thought it would be a good idea for the player to just die sometimes through no fault of their own.
I am waiting for an obligatory fanboy post. I am sure they have reasons to prove how this is a great game mechanic. Comeon guys where are you? need some enlighting posts here.

The Ape King cant even be Farmed by people...The Ape King is in the area right BEFORE the agte to Tortage common area. As far as I know (and I remember trying) once you go through that gate you cant go back.

I've made two new characters this past weekend and didn't run into the "feature" in either case. Is this a pretty rare event? I agree with another poster who said grayed out mobs shouldn't drop loot in order to handle farming, but if this is FC's solution, it's pretty piss poor. Again, though, haven't experienced it myself.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.

It's as if the directors of the game have never even played an MMO before. There are a dozen games out there that have handled farming mobs better than this. Why not consult them?

This happened to me in Cimmeria with a boss. I was attacking him with my brother when all of a sudden BINK we are dead. I fought this guy before and he in no way damaged me that bad so at first I thought maybe someone ganked us we didn't see. Then we looked at the combat log. Same thing he hit both of us for about 2k.
I've heard others complain they get hit like that from bosses too so this issue is definatly not isolated.

This pretty much tells everyone the exact state of the game. Funcom just changed one of the fundemental part in the combat system and they had actually no idea THEMSELFS how it would turn out....
"Oh well.. we send it out on the retail servers anyway..."
Its just pathetic.
