Lot of people dont know what the inside of FFXI looks like and thought we could start thread of the in game screen shots.

Wow those are totally cool, I have hard time catching the action and special effects on PS2 like you did.

Unfortunately every pic is of levels 50+/beseiged/end game or campaign.Not much of a true look for any new player.They will see windhurst/san doria/bastock/rabbits/crabs/pugs/gobs/sarutabaruta/ranfaure oh did i mention yagudos ..lol.
Show some pics that a new player will actually see to be fair and accurate to the game and the new players.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
We garrison 2 to 3 times a month with level cap of 20/30 just for new players and mid level members. Besiege that was pictured above is done by many people under level 50 for skill ups to fine tune there characters. All MMO's that survived 5+ years are top heavy with high players, but many of the missions in FFXI expansions are level caped at 30 or 40 so that players from the first few months can enjoy. Other battle fields like Assault level 50+ and Dynamis level 65+ are level restricted the other way to maintain fun for the more experienced gamers.

These battle fields are set by the person running and can be any level. Most times done by lower levels just for fun.

Hope these help to show the "true" game w/e you mean by that. Since when I started the game there where only those zones you talk down on and I played in them for over a year b4 I could even get to Jueno the big and only city at the time. Besieged and Campaign only started last year and half. Your right they do not represent the best part of the game. Windy, Sandy and Bastok have lengthy rank missions from 1 to 10 of the history in those lands with the people and the mobs that inhibit them. All very cool and very interesting to most of the new players who like Final Fantasy.

Even the GameMaster are somewhat cool in FFXI. The person in red is GM who actually appeared to us during a linkshell gathering just to take some pictures. Most times when these guys appear, if they do there is serious trouble and you do not want to be on receiving end.

Pandacon, those are great looking screenshots, would you mind telling me what resolution you use, and the background resolution, i recently starting playing again, and remember the graphics looking better, i have been playing with the settings but cant get it right.
Are you using the FFXI Window function that built in now or the window third party program. I use PC version to but my screens come from the PS2. I think there drivers for the new function they built are not nearly as nice still to the original program people used.

Those screens are back from 2006 This is my shell ( leader ) The nidhogg was the 1st kill i think it was on 3/2006 ,
I stopped playing on 9/2006 but i still have +1000 screen shots if any one's intrested , Major HNM fights and shell events , kills
I have bestiary started out our ls forums and would really like to see some of these big HNM's. As a social ls we do not get to do them ourselves and last time I got screen shot of behemoth I got AEO and death. /sigh
