Blizzard is awesome

I felt like playing a shadow priest again but the pain of leveling one again was not a very funny idea.

However pre-bc i had a 60 shadow priest and really liked that class.   Unfortunatly i delete this character about 2 years ago when i tought i'd be leaving the game for good.

So just for the heck i opened a ticket in game yesterday just to know if it was possible to restore old deleted characters.

Well believe or not, this morning i log and it was there !  They restored my 2 years old pre-bc shadow priest.

Blizzard is amazing with it's customers.

yea id have to say that blizzard is good with its people and is one of the best in the industry. pulling off 10+ million players, wow! and all theyre franchises are very successful. people who say theyre bad are just haters, so obvious.

There is good and bad with every company.

I do not like Blizzard's customer service because it was a complete nightmare getting my account to work properly on first activation (the key was taken already, and it took three weeks for them to generate a new one after I provided proof of purchase).

Not fun, and playing the game was a torture far worse than waiting for it.

Oddly, this thread reminds me of the 'mob mind' where everyone agrees on everything because they all have a linear perspective and a similar object of adoration. Like an entourage following the high school prom king, blindly agreeing with his point of view and telling others of how awesome he is... for a reason which none but the most dogmatic can logically justify in their minds.

    Just an opinion / observation.

One day I was deleting a lot of low levels Alts.

When done, I restarted to play with my main.

Suddenly I didn't found him anymore ! I had made a terrible mistake in deleting the main over a level 1 character !

Made a ticket and after 10 minutes I got my main back. Only needed to be put back in the guild.

The reaction times to the last tickets were always within this 10 minute bracket. Even on sundays.

So it's nice to see that level 50+ characters are never lost when you delete them.

I wonder what would have happened if somebody had created a character with the same name as your deleted Shadow Priest. It's probably linked to youe account not the name so you'd probably just need to change the name.

WoW customer support is better then most of the other customer support of other MMOGs,but blizzard is far from a perfect company ... they have very few original ideas (Diablo being a original one) and they are greedy to no end (after all that huge monthly profit they could atleast give out expansions for free to current subs, but instead they force them to front up extra cash if they want to continue playing, apart from the montly cost).

Blizzard is basicly a EA except that it's popular and loved, soo it doesnt have to defend itself against claims cause they have a wall of fanboys ready to be mindless meat shields.

I've never understood why people feel the need to delete their characters after they leave a game, but I've had numerous friends do the same thing.

Well, regardless the reason, its great that Blizzard can restore characters like this, especially 2 years down the road.  I know with games like DAOC and Lineage you were frequently out of luck if a character got deleted unless you could prove your account had been stolen or something.

I never had any complaints about Blizzard support.  The in-game folks seemed a bit dim, however whenever I called them I always spoke with competent personnel.
