Another person looking for a new game

SerapheimSerapheim Member Posts: 18

Recently I quit Guild Wars which I have been playing quite a long time. It was good for a non-subscription MMORPG but after a while became repetitive and boring.  I have been looking around at a new MMORPG to play and I would just like to get a few suggestions and such from players who play MMORPG's. I enjoy both PvP and PvE and would wish for both to be in the new game I will play. Also some degree of decent crafting aswell. Any suggestions? I am willing to discuss.

Thanks

Serapheim

I left gw for lotro and I'm fully convinced. Good content, nice polish... Feels great after 3 years of gw.  Even though this game is quite focused on pve its has some nice pvp and the pvp should become a bigger thing once we get into book 2. The crafting is interesting, the best items (except high sets) are crafted items.

If your euro I could even send you a trial key.

if you like guild wars you'd probably enjoy an mmo named Rappelz or Rapplez i forget the spelling, i played it for quite some time, it's a dungeon grinder but there are plenty of quests per level, the graphics are similar to guild wars and the pvp is alright.

Yes, Lotro seems a viable option. Especially with the special offer currently on subscriptions. It also has PvE, PvP (As such) and Crafting. Overall looks a generally decent game, thank you for the suggestion.

Hmm, might have to check that out although dungeon grinding isn't my thing. But good quests I do enjoy, thanks for the suggestion Pepsipwnzgod.

Honestly I tried Rappelz, its very addictive. But after lvl 50 there are nearly no quests left to do. The pet system is nice. The big prtoblem with this game is the very slowq leveling which can only be avoided by using the cash shop.

Unless your a very hardcore gamer rappels might be a bit rough

Yeh might be good to play for a while, but a lack of content is a put off and I get bored easily grinding for levels and just hack and slash killing to level up. But still I will probably have a look at it, so far I am more convinced by Lotro.

Also I downloaded the 14 day EU free trial for Lotro, but when I tried to extract the zipped file it says it is invalid or corrupted. Anyone know why this happens? Ah well looks like I'll have to buy it on CD

This is a common problem! Its probibly not the file that is corrupt you just ned to use a nother program to unzip it with since the file is so large! Try WinRar I think it should work!

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Yeh many thanks Papadam, WinRar seems to be extracting it fine . It had caused me a lot of frustration considering the time it takes to download.
