Maxxx: "I find the graphics in AO way better than DAoC"

I have to disagree with you Maxxx. It all depends on what expansionpack you addon.

I have played both DAoC, with SI and ToA, and AO, without Shadowlands.

Needless to say comparing games graphically without all the expansionpacks added is pointless.

Note: I really like both DAoC and AO. Just wanted to shed some light on unfair comparasing for MMOs

EDIT: What is good graphics? For me its more about the way the designers have done their job. I liked DAoC and AO but I for some reason the graphics of AC2 didnt appeal to me, not in any way saying its bad graphics or a bad game. Luckily we all have different views on what we think looks good...

    DID -- love

    - Long long ago many great warriors traveled the land of Dereth. In the prime of their heroics journey's a power greater than the Shadow, Dominion, and Order swung it's mightly nerf bat. The mighty power realized what tragedy it had caused and franticly searched for a way to repair things. As many months passed the mighty power realized it had ruined it's own creation with irrational decisions. Atlast it was to late to save that which was held so sacred.

    - Now the heros are few and sparse. Happy with the restructure created by the mighty power, but lonely they are. For it is to late for the many heros to return to a journey once forgotten.

I like AC2, I just feel kind of stuck because I seem to have broken the chain of quests that took me from Arwic all the way to Rithwic. I can't just grind and kill mobs, killing mobs just for XP is SLOW XP. I'm level 16 and the minimum level on the next vault is 21, so that's not an option either.

Vendor buy us all a decent MMORPG bank guards recdu recsu

If you are on frostfell, look me up sometime, my main is Ameris Ryunnsun, add me to your list. A good patron/allegiance can really help you get started as well. After 16th, (assuming youve done the two level 12 vaults) Your next big number is 19, which is when you can do drudge citadel and kydi vaults. Your best bet at 16 would be to go to Ikeras and doing a Bloodfeast shreth incursion quest with a group. If you are with a good group, do a few back to back and youll be leveled up to 20-ish relatively quickly. Incursions and quests are the way to go. ac2hq is an excellent source for info, and if you can find the AC2HQ agent, it puts a hook in your help options to give you in game help on just about every quest there is.

Back on topic, I played this game for two months during launch and got really tired of the crappy lootgen, and the lackluster crafting system, and the lack of things to do. I ended up quitting soon after. Last week, after getting sick of my 5 year AC1 addiction and contemplating bashing my head against a wall when faced with the grind that is FFXI, I decided to download the free trail I found via this site. I have to say that turbine did a fairly decent job keeping the good things about this game intact, while changind alot of the things that made this game irritating. Im enjoynig myself quite a bit and dont plan on jumping ship again anytime soon.

    EDIT: Clarity

I actually think that is all the game is. A chat window that comes with a game.Third, I really wish people would just stop playing it so Turbine, and the rest of the MMORPG community, will understand that releasing a game in the condition AC2 was in when released is totally unacceptable. The only reason they keep it going is so they can show other companies that they have two MMORPGs on the market in hopes of attracting enough attention so get names like D&D Online and LOTR.

I can't comment about the higher levels as I'm only 32. However, are you aware of the Hero system? It allows players to level up past 50 to 150 now. So, there is leveling after 50 now and that IS something to do. At this point I think the highest person is in there 70's, so don't worry about hitting the cap too fast. Other than leveling of course there are some quests to do. Though granted from what I've read on the message boards, there aren't as many quests for 50+ as there are for the lower levels. I expect in time that will change.

Also now the craft system has been redone and crafting takes a bit more time and seems to be more of an accomplishment, so again that's more to do if you get bored. Other than that what do you expect to do? It's the same in AC1 once you hit 126 you just gain more xp, craft, do the same handful of quests, and wait for patch day. It's pretty much the same in AC2.

About the release, I agree AC2 was pushed out way too fast but I really doubt it was all Turbine's fault. I assume it was the publisher, Microsoft who was pushing for the release.

And yes it's true the only reason AC2 is alive is because the development of D&D and LOTR. If Turbine were to scrap AC2 it would look pretty bad and shake peoples faith in D&D and LOTR. If AC2 doesn't pick up after a year or so after D&D is released, I'm betting it will be shut down.

It's kind of sad, because AC2 right now is decent a game. Though I still think it performs crappy, the animations suck or the engine sucks, something isn't right. It's not a smooth running game. I hope they fix it in D&D and LOTR. Other than that AC2 is pretty solid in gameplay.

yeah Asimplicity you're right but it's still fun to play !  I won't pay for it but I won't pay for any game with a monthly fee, maybe if it were only a minimal fee just to pay the server like 5-10US$ anyway I still enjoyed the trial very much it's a shitload better than other MMORPGs !
