Nice..but gotta remember ..looks arent the most important..and one cant tell a game is good just by the screens...
Look at aoc..nice graphics at the cost of becoming one of the worst games ever...
I have all the faith in the world Mythic will deliver a great game.
DAoC was a great game itself. Knowing what they know from that game will do nothing but make WAR all the better.
Last September I was at Mythic for an interview...didn't get the job...but when I was there they showed me this...they have 4 floors of the building dedicated to nothing but Warhammer.
They have UO and DAoC all in the same office space...the entire floor but you know what I mean.
I doubt this game will fail to deliver.
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
From what I've read I'm going to say I'm reletively confident this game will be good as far as game play. My hopes might be misplaced but I doubt it. The one thing people have been complaining about with this game, however, is the graphics, and clearly that's not going to be an issue.
WAAAAGH!!!
Sadly, my mind is considerable not blown
Yeah, well some people just can't be pleased. Go have fun with AOC.
I've seen this picture and others already and trust me that is not how the game graphics will look at release...it will look better

This really does give me a new perspective on WAR.. Im pleasantly surprised
Most important thing in any PvP centered MMO: It has to be running smoothly, react adequatly and have nice looking animations.
And WAR does look exactly like the devs know full well what a nice animation looks like, plus they know that it is absolutely essential that people have the feeling that they lost a duel/battle because THEY made a mistake, not the game/lag/server.
I couldn't care less about the nose or the skin of my character or about how the runes on his shoulderpads look... But if i pick up two short swords and slice away I want the animations to be friggin MINDblowing. Thats one thing WoW did SO well, when you landed a backstab with 3500 critical damage the animation and the sound was like "BAM, have a nice day b**ch"... And as far as anyone can tell now, Warhammer will absolutely deliver there...

They didn't have the final lighting system in those screens, I'm not sure if it's in the final beta client or not yet - so no, it'll look even better than that at launch. Right now the spells look like they were painted with cheap colors but not for long.
--------------------------------------
A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Order of the White Border.
Although the graphics are far better, the art style is much like WoW, which goes to show how much Blizzard ripped off the Warhammer IP. The graphics are certainly not 'mind-blowing' but definitely something I would expect from a next-gen MMO that is looking for a balance between graphics and more importanly gameplay and stability.
O_o o_O
They are ok, nothing to blow any mind imo, but better that than worrying about framerates.
good point there btw. If you think "hey, its scaringly colorful", stop thinking, the final level lighting will change all that by adjusting the inherent color of a texture to the zone/level lights. It's the one most meaningful step when creating atmospheric ambience, like color filters in movies (green for the matrix, anyone?)

EDIT: One more thing, OTHER games implemented this processing right from the start to look cool, with the effect that, for example, colorsets on armors looked weird in later versions or trees were not actually green when seen in true white light...
