True both games can be easy, that's where the beauty lies in MMO's in a post WoW world, if you want to do something and have limited time - you can.

I have heard LOTRO raids are tank and spank for the most part, and everything that I have seen from instances up to this point would indicate that is highly probable, of course I can't say for sure.  In WoW endgame raids can be pretty complex the further you progress in both dungeon and overall endgame.  Let's not turn this into a WoW vs LOTRO thread tho.

Sorry if you want to raid in WoW all your off time to do it...

Dont know if you have raided in it, but it takes a good 3 to 4 hours to do kara with a new group.  2 hours if your all over geared and know the fights.

And that is just 10mans.  SSC and TK take a long ass time.

The Illidan fight is 25 minutes long.

THe game does not cater to taking less time to do things.

No the raid bosses are not just tank and spank but from what Ive heard they are not as scripted as WoW fights and doesnt require you to have certain gear and all do a certan thing at specific moments, they are alot more forgiving... There are  group-instances such as Barad gularan and Annunimas that have very different fights and are more scripted.. (more like puzzles)

and by the way... the Balrog fight in The Rift raid in LotrO takes about 30-45 minutes (and its far from tank/spank) .. But raiding in Lotro is probibly alot easier than in other MMOs...

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

I'm just saying grouping shouldn't be forced upon people inorder to do quests, there should be enough solo content for people to do if they can't find a group, which up to this point there really isn't.

No grouping shouldnt be forced... and it isnt in LotrO... there is more than enough solo quest in this game I can assure you! Have you done all the quest in ND, Evendim and Trollshaws (think that zone starts at 33) ?

But grouping is more fun and I too wish it was easier to find groups at times.. (or that people would start using the LFF tool...) But the reason people dont group is because its easier to solo and there is too many solo quests :)

I am almost done with ND quests, I haven't started in either Evendim or Trollshaws.

I totally agree that grouping is more fun.  The problem with current MMO's and leveling is that solo play is much more rewarding, I agree.  They should encourage group play while leveling by getting rid of the XP penalty or something like that.

    Nubzi,

I know where you are at "figuratively" in the game with dwindling quests at that level. I can assure you that doesn't last long. Once you go to Evindem and Trollshaws, your quest log will most like stay at least 50-75% full of solo or "small group" quests, which can be done solo if you are a couple of levels higher if you had too.

Yes book 4 starts in rivendell.

I know what raiding is like in WoW, the problem with raids is they have too much clearing to be done.  If more raids in WoW were like Gruul and Mag it would be a pretty good endgame.  In the overall scheme of things, yes it does take less time to do things in WoW and most MMO's post WOW.

There is more solo content in this game than any one character could ever get to.

Players that enjoy soloing sometimes get stressed when they have a quest log full of group quests for the zone they are working.  When you run out of solo quests, that means it's time to move on..unless you are willing o group of course.  In the low 30s,  Evindim and the  Trollshaws both have solo quests.  The Misty Mountains and Angmar will be coming up soon as well.

You can level to 50 solo in those zones (I did the first time).  However don't forget to try Foreschell when you hit 44, some great solo content there.

The book chains are not meant to be solo content. They are a mixture of solo and group quests.  The game is solo friendly.  However there is also a lot of group content for those that enjoy it.  "Solo freindly" does not mean you can do everything in the game solo.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

Everything that I have seen up to this point in the game (level 32) I'm running out of solo content left and right.  Finding groups to complete group quests is incredibly hard.  To date the way I finish most of the group quests is by getting help from a 50 in my Kin.

There are probably quest areas you are missing if you're running out of solo content. Oatbarton to Dwaling, Tinnundir (starting quests), Barachen's Camp are some spots that are often missed in the 27-33 range.  Also, didn't catch what server you play on, but some have a global LFF channel (glff) that can make it much easier to find a group. Try doing a "/joinchannel glff" and seeing how many people are on that channel on your server. On Elendilmir there are around 200-250 during peak hours.
