Expansion packs ...Blizzard loves them, so what's it going to be?

abollardiereabollardiere Member UncommonPosts: 121

Well I know it won't be for a while but we know it's going to happen. It's inevitable. Probably a new race or so, perhaps a couple of classes,  new spells for the old classes. Hopefully a way to further customize your face and body at character creation. News locations etc...

The question is actually 2 questions:

What would you like to see?

What do you think we will see?

Well, to not actually answer your questions.. Blizzard may love expansion packs, but they dont release hundreds for each game. Blizzard also does some of the best expansions i've ever seen.

    Now to answer your questions:

    1. I'd like to see new races, and high end content.

    2. I think we'll see possibly a new race, maybe a new class, and lots of higher end content.

It's a MMORPG! It doesn't matter if it's Blizzard or not. Expansion packs and MMORPG's go hand in hand. You can count on new races, classes, zones, items, skills and anything else you can think of. That's a GOOD thing.

definitely a new race on each side, maybe a new class or two, a load of new items and spells, probably a couple new professions.... i would think we would also see new high-end zones with tons of content to keep those lvl 90s busy for quite awhile.

i can see one expansion coming about a year and a half - two years after release with possibly one more comng awhile after that. i think blizzard may vary things with patches from time to time but i can't imagine they'll make lots of them since it takes blizzard about 3 times as long to do anything as most companies

1.) Personnaly I would like to see them add content for the low lvl's as well, most MMO's neglect that and unless you have a really high lvl character you don't benefit or see any of the new content added.

2.) Probably more quests, high end content, another race per faction, tweaks to the PVP, new lands and skills, maybe some more in depth character costomization, tweaks to the crafting systems, and maybe some new classes and crafting skills. And this is Blizzard so i'm sure that they will make some awsome expansion packs and hopefully add some things none of us here would think of image

    IMHO of course :)

race per faction would be good.

I want to see either goblins? or Ogre/Orc halfbreed like the hero on the campaign.

I would like to see blood elves, ogres and those mermaid things that apeared in the frozen throne xp.

Oh and the option to drink the demon blood so that your orc could turn red.image

And to be able to go to the demon world.

great suggestions blakheart666 I was about to ask how much of the fronzen throne was actually seen in the current WoW never having played the expansion myself.

Would you see the blood Elves more as NPCs or could it make a playable race? Where did they live?

By the way, has anyone seen high elves in WoW?

i dont know about blood elves tbh with you, more of an npc

Cause story wise the high elves got killed so much that so few high elves remained the elves turned themselves into Blood Elves generally out for revenge against the undead, but unsure of their loyalty, as the humans generally treated them badly.

I dont think enough of them exist to make them a playable race, altho it would be sweat. Naga on the other hand would be great too. Althogh they slide so :P.

There are both Naga and High Elves/Blood elves in WoW. The Naga are humaniod mobs that u can kill, and the Blood Elves I have only seen one and he was in a quest at Ratchet. I would like two new classes as well like the oger orc as mentioned above and the pandera which was pretty tight. I don't see new classes or races being implemented in any time soon though. I see new lower level quests/ areas and different dimensions/high levels being added before anything.]

    We shall see-

Not really, hasn't there been talk about Everquest II expansions? One of the biggest questions I keep seeing is about raising the level cap for one; some people think the current one is to low... they haven't even seen how long it takes yet... One probably even more common is PvP and when that will be released. So I've seen quite a few "what will be down the road with the expansions/updates" for both WOW and EQII.

Anyways back on topic... what I would like to see would probably be a little to over the top in terms of size (but if any company would do that with an expansion, it would be Blizzard) but here it goes anyways:

I was disappointed that Blood Elves aren't going to be in the original (they were my favorite) and the Undead in the Horde sounded kind of weird at times. This what I would like to see:

    Alliance                    Horde                          Forsaken (or whatever)
     Humans                     Orcs                              Undead
     Night Elves                 Trolls                             Blood Elves
     Dwarves                    Taurens                         Naga
     Gnomes                     Goblins (or Ogres)          Dranei

Personally I think this makes a ton more sense to me. The goblins (or ogres) finally give up their neutrality and join the Horde once again. The Undead (Sylvanas' Undead, the ones you play in WOW, not the totally awesome Arthas' Undead) join with the Blood Elves and there allies. This makes much more sense to me because the Blood Elves, and Naga despise Arthas for whopping Illidan's ass which gives them a common goal with the rebel Undead: to destroy the new Lich King. The only reason it seemed the rebel Undead were with the Horde in the first place was out of necessity. Blizzard could make the launch of the expansion an awesome in-game event in which the Undead some how betray the Horde in some big way and open a portal to help their new allies cross over from the former Orc homeworld. For new areas they could add a bunch of new land where the Blood Elves are hiding out and increase the lvl cap.

Of course this is probably way to much work for an expansion pack but Blizzard is not known to cheapen up things.

Edit: Woot! commemorating 500 posts with a nice long one!

I would like to see like proffesions that you can only get through tough quests that stretches on for days, or New hero classes......... Of course some new skills magics and items are something that must come in a eventual expansion and therefore I do not count this on my wish list for a WoW expansion

I think that the idea of Quests that take a bit more than kill these creatures and come back are needed.  I'd love to see and expansion of races, but  mostly on the classes, more of a variety so that everyone is not "exactly the same" as everyone else that's a "warrior" and a "dwarf", for example.  One of the things that really gets me is that it's such a quest based game and it's actually difficukt to just go out and kill stuff if your not really interested in the PvP aspect.

Interesting... I have only played the stress test so I don't know how complex and drawn out the higher level quests can get.

Could some of the higher level Closed Beta testers comment on that? Perhaps give us an example of a longer than usual quest they might've encountered .. if there are any?
