Thinking of returning, couple of questions

1) Is this game still popular? How are the server populations.

2) Is grouping at lower levels easy or difficult?

Thanks in advance!

It seems fine to me.  I have several characters in the 10-25 range, and I can't say that it's gotten any harder to group with them than it was when I was doing my 3 characters that are 40+ (2 50's).

Conan- Zoltar <Angels of Death> Guardian on Stormrage.

Server populations are not much of a concern in Lord of the Rings: Online as you don't group.

The group mechanic is very un-rewarding and the content (apart from end game and some elements of the later Epic Quests) can be soloed easily and you will get better rewards for it.

It is a super-casual game which also shows in the complete lack of character customization, which also means that grouping up is a rather lack-lustre affair since all characters of the same class will be identical.

    1. Yes it does have a healthy population and will probably keep rising as we get closer to the expansion this fall

2, Grouping at lower levels can probably be pretty hard at times... lots of solo quests and group quests for all levels in the game

Wierd because I group all the time with characters at all levels... and the quest rewards are alot beter than what you get from solo-quests... but I guess we all have different expereinces

And yes.. the game is "super casual"... and its great :)

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Even though the pop in the starter instances is low during low hours, as soon as you reach the lvl 15 zones there are always quite a lot of players. Got helped by max level players that just felt liek helping a lot of times

I can't speak for all servers but Brandywine seems to always be populated.  I got on at 6:45 am yesterday and got grouped up with a couple of guys immediately and we knocked out quests for a few hours.  This was the level 10-13 area.  Running around the cities I came across hundreds and hundreds of players.  Seemed more alive then most of the games i've played lately actually (WoW on my old server (everyone is 70), EQ2 (Barren Wasteland), Vanguard(The 2nd most popular, and a great game), Lineage II (Barren Wasteland w/Bots).
