Now thats not fair...Blizzard has released some awesome games and come up with their own lore for these games.  The fact that WoW is getting old and has a been there done that feel doesn't take away from the fact that it was once new and shiney.

What own lore? Diablo's lore is plain and simple and warcraft and starcraft are just GamesWorkshop's worlds copies with "lore" added as afterthought.

    Amen brother.

Warhammer will be a relief to those bored of WoW.

Starcraft seems to also closely resemble Warhammer 40k.

Looks actually pretty decent to me, i'll most likely be buying the expansion, people here can try make themselves bigger than they seem and fart some air out but WotLK is going to sell more than AoC or WAR can sell/sold together.

You can't go wrong with Blizzard when it comes to buying an entertaining game worth every penny.

It looks like more of the same. World of Warcraft isn't bad so much as it is extremely shallow. And I'm sure it'll outsell AoC (not so sure about WAR), but who cares? That's not going to make the gameplay less grindy or formulaic. And last but not least, until WoW came out I'd have agreed with you on the "Blizzard can't make a bad game" front, but WoW is mediocre at best. Lots of style, no substance.

    ...moo?

BTW i see a lot of funny old movie monsters in those, i love that part!  Can't wait to bash those "gremlins look-alike".   "Gizmo grille!!!! wahahahahahaaaaaa", might be their attack voices?

For now it looks like my mmo games for next year will be WotLK and Aion, with a splash of D3, when it finally arrives.

Blizzard does make good games, at first. Then they have a tendency to screw them up as they mature. The game is boring, linear, and caters to the casual player, carebears, and really young and really old, and those who are really new to MMOs.

Vets of MMOs will never be satisfied with WoW and its non-existent sense of accomplishment. It appeals to the mindless drones that think it's cool to grind over and over again, spinning your wheels in the sloppy runny mess that is WoW.

So, it took you 70 levels to figure out that you actualy don't like what the game is about? Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you!

It looks like you're the dull-witted one here, Corky. Leveling through the game, the first time, in WoW is fun. On release I had a blast leveling my pally to 60. It was new, there was world PvP, and I was on my way to max level. However, after getting to max level is when most people realize that WoW has nothing to offer at end game except one giant cluster fuck of a grind. Want items? Grind gold, rep, raid bosses. Want to PvP? Well with World PvP dead you can now wait in line for one of three epically dull amusement park BGs or perhaps you'd like to grind your PvP out in arenas!!!

Yes, getting to the max level and finally realizing that WoW is shallow and linear is what happens to most people. People who jump the gun before then are idiots, much like yourself.

I get a great sense of achievement when me and my guild progress in dungeons and kill that boss we have been trying to down for weeks. Nothing like the buzz of downing a boss for the first time. When my guild makes a pre-made and we hit the Battleground and we smash the competition.. feels great.

And as soon as I feel the gind I'll get out.. 3 years on and I am going strong... as are millions others of all ages.

Vets should say away from MMO's there are games for them EQ and OU.. MMO's have moved on.. time they did too.

WoW is the best PvE game there is - great encounter design and so on. For PvP it really does not shine though.

Regardles of wether you like or dislike WOW style of graphics, wow has some of the most talented artists. What they are able to do within the limitations of the game's graphic engine is just amazing, not to say that the animation is lightyears ahead of anything else in the MMO genre. Just about everyone I spoke with said that after playing wow, all other MMOs felt "wooden" and "stiff".

I might not like wow, but blizzard always managed to make addictive stuff, this expansion might not be very good but it'll keep sucking the soul of the players. Nice color patterns on the drake/ magehunters

Plus Warhammer and Diablo 3 are coming.

Couldn't have said it better.  Much as I love WOW's polish, class, magic and combat design, it's the "over and over and over and over" that's driving me nuts.  And I'm not talking about raiding; just the levelling up of a new toon and going through the same zones, same dungeons, same quests

    ad nauseum.
