I wouldnt preorder EQ2 if i were you, in my MMOG gaming experience i learned that even the most anticipated games can become a failure. But of course, you are die-hard fans, what can you do?image

Anticipated MMOGs i didnt (and still dont) like:

    Lineage2 (preorder)

    City of Heroes (After release)

    Star Wars Galaxies (preorder)

BTW dont worry, im not a WoW fan image, its just an advice

I have it preordered. Will play it even if I don't like it at first. That's the problem with most people, you wont always immediately fall in love with something. I will give it quite a few months.. make myself love it. ;-)

dont worry if you have pre ordered ,this game is great .

I thought ac2 was good in the way they send you on quest after quest in the start to get you into the feel of the game .

But EQ2 does it a whole lot better , great for the casual gamer and great for the more serious player

This game is so huge and so nice nice looking it will blow you away , i have not seen anyone moan about it in game yet .

every animation in the game is spot on , every npc talks to you , the world feels real .

If they ban me for saying how good this is , well thats just sad , i dont feel i have given any secrets away .

    2 copies for dual boxing??

If that is the case, that will be very tough to do and degrade the game very much so for you. Combat will be amazingly fun, and quite tough and strategic, making you participate in it quite intensely. If you don't play strategically you will not get groups. That is the bottom line on that, if you don't play well you will not get groups, nor will you keep them for long.

I have pre-ordered and got my character creation CD, I just wanted the j-boots for my character as their are no ports and stuff in the start of the game so they will be really handy for getting about.

I am just trying to wait patiently for the game to be released as I am not in beta image

I've pre-order the Collector's Edition. Now I'm not a hardcore gamer as school is to taxing sometimes, but this game I can't wait to play. And for the doom & gloomers..you never know till you play.

I went out and got the pre order/Char creator CD today and just spent several hours with it.
I gotta say they look very very nice, good choices. The vids and music are also pretty sweet.
I played the original Everquest for almost 3 and a half years, played less and less the last 6 months
because I was also playing DAoC. I had gotten fed up with SOE and all the ubermencsh mentality
in EQ so I dropped it.

I have been following EQ2 for several years and am actually excited about it, if The Devs made
it fun to play. The animations , battle, spell's etc look amazing and the music is awsome too. I also got
to be in the WoW stress test and just had a plain blast playing it, it's a very well done, thoughtout game.
However I really , really want EQ2 to be better. I already have plans for a Dark Elf Shadow Knight and Necro, Dwarf Warrior and some High Elf, Wood Elf casters. I totally enjoyed EQ the first 2 and a half years it was out was a lot of fun till a lot of high level people got the attitude that if you werent uber you were lower than pond scum and questing was a downright joke. I remember camping the same spot for several weeks just to get 1 item.... geebus what a mess.... anyway I digress.

Here's hopng that the Devs on EQ2 have made a fun, immersive game.

I preordered the normal cd version.  Figure I will at least be trying it out no matter what the reviews are so no real reason not to order it.

My experience with SWG is the only reason I have put off a pre-order as long as I have. I've resisted pre-ordering every other mmorpg this year, even though I have ended up rushing out on opening day to buy a few :) I have decided to pre-order EQ2 this week, in spite of my trepidation about SOE and the fact that I l;oved the WoW stress. It rare for a pre-order in game item to grab me, but the JBoots seem like they will be a very useful thing to have. Good thing, too, because I don't think talking statues were going to provide much of a temptation ;)

But im going to Pre-Order EQ2 (even though i have to pay 39 USD for shipping ::::25::), dont know if im gonig to go CE or normal yet though::::02::

I preordered the Collectors DVD set. Mainly for the extra added features for the player housing. I'm really excited about the release of the game and plan on holding a party in Ak'Anon if it's going live the first day. Hope to see you all there.

im gonna laugh my ass off when you buy it and realize its just another mindnumbingly boring grind with no content released by the ever so greedy SOE.

    jaja

Everquest 2 is going to be the biggest flop in mmorpg history - EQ2 Beta tester.

  • JoanahoJoanaho Member Posts: 16

EverQuest II as with any other game you play is exactly what you make of it. If you go with an open mind and eye's, then you will more than likely have the most fun you've ever had playing any game. If you go into it thinking I gotta level, I gotta level, then you will find it boring and unfulfilling in the long run.

Whatever path you choose, I hope you find what you are looking for. image

I am looking foreward to being a n00b in a new game, exploring new zones and killing random monsters with friends. The graphics look great! Choosing a race/class combo will be difficult due to the fact there is no Beastlord class ::::11::

Looking up at a dragon that has never been defeated before is an awesome experience!

Not going to Pre-order here..  I want it at my house the day of release so I can play... I may have to do some searching at the stores but I'll HAVE IT!
  • MorydinMorydin Member UncommonPosts: 78
I am reluctant to pre-order because I pre-ordered SWG (not playing it anymore) and that was the first time I hae ever pre-ordered any game. I didn't get my game until almost a week after launch and I don't want that to happen with this one. Is there a way to pre-order it and pick it up in a locla store like gamestop or ebgames? If you could go by there and pre-order and pick it up on launch day that would be awesome.
