General Sign Ups for beta...

Whoever signed up for beta, and is not a long time subscriber, or cancelled their account due to personal reasons, get their beta invitation yet? I am wondering because I just have hope everyday for acceptance into beta...

US people are getting in too, I don't know what category they're falling under, "long term subscribers", "Legends" or "regular signups" or whatever, but definitely some US people getting in now also, check those emails often!

Yes, I got in the French beta and I only filled in the beta form. It was a nice surprise for me when I got the email. It was a pain to download the 3.3 Gig client but all worth it in the end.

After EQ2beta3 (long time EQ subscribers) will be the open beta (nov) where they allow tens of thousands in to stress stess servers and registration/log-in server (SOE has over 100,000 beta applications on file from the beta reg period.) Since in retail they easily expect +100,000 to be loging in first day! At the moment, the beta is still under nda and testers are not allowed to even acknowledge they are in the beta.

from what im told by a beta tester now is the following:

"if you dont have a level 65 character on an active subscription, or a member of the Legends server you arent getting in"

exact quote, and i believe him 100%.  from what he says the game is ready as is, and he is certain (and so am i) that 1) there will be no open beta and 2) the game will ship on the same day as WoW.  from what im told "EQ2 has from here until WoW launches to make changes, but as soon as WoW ships so will EQ2"

WoW has one more push that expected any day, when that goes i give 2 weeks until open beta, following that i give 3 weeks on open beta then i see launch.  From what i reading on the boards Blizzard is going to bust ass to get it out asap, so im hoping they will make the 11/16 launch date.  as for the US EQ2, from what i can tell now, they have roughly 5,000 people in the beta.  thats not going to get much bigger by launch i dont suspect.

Completely and absolutely false. I know 2 people personally who are in the beta and are neither of those. Dunno where you're getting your info or where said supposed beta tester is getting their info, but you might want to look elsewhere.

"My friend" got and only played the EQ trial(actually I don't even think "he" used the same account for the EQ trial as "he" did for EQ2 beta though..).

"He" got in about a week ago for US beta.

Does not really matter to me, while I would like to get a pre release look at the game I can wait for release. From what a friend who is in beta ( my younger brother, damn him  for living in another state)told me the game is ready for release now so it's not as much beta'ing as it is just play testing for balance etc so it won't be long till release anyway.

    I miss DAoC

I don't know about that.. the game doesn't seem very close to release to me. It will be lucky if it gets out by Christmas(but they are moving pretty fast so I think they'll make it before xmas, another big update today. ::::28:: ).

They must have a small army working on the game with the blazing pace they are setting.

It is fustrating to some I no, with no updates as to what is going on.  I being a 5 year subscriber and never cancelled my subscription have not gotten into closed, so I'm just waiting for one or the other to happen.  Yes it would be nice to be in closed beta, but seeings as how the release date is so close, I can wait.  I've no clue where someone got that information of having to be lvl 65, as I to know someone in closed beta that never had an eq account.

When 1 person starts a rumor, its amazing how far the truth gets stretched by the time it reaches the last person.

    Cheers

Color me wacky, but I fail to see what peoples masturbatory fixation with getting into beta is. So you get to play an incomplete version of the game before everyone else. 90% of you could give two shits about filing a bug report, if you even know how. And just like WoW's stress test, I imagine all the SpEds that come flooding in will swamp the beta forums with their spastic posts of how the games laggy, and everything sucks, and they want a refund. As if flailing about with their sooper retard strength could change reality, or something.
