Is it true that there is permadeath in Saga of Ryzom?
FFXI- Quit after 10 months
Ultima Online- Quit after 25 months
Ragnarok Online- Quit after a week
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there

No permadeath for the moment.
In the future, there will be some, but linked to having a child : if you decide to have a child IG, you must find someone to create him or her with you, then a new character sharing stats from the 2 parents will appear on each account and the parent character will start aging and then die.
Permadeath will be an option down the road. The way it works is your character can get married to another character and engender offspring (1 each). From that point your character will begin to age and eventually die. When your primary character dies you start playing it's child character. In addition to having all your stuff, your child also has other benefits like a better aptitude in the skills you mastered with your primary character and more.
So that's SoR permadeath in a nutshell.
