why age of conan needs to offer a free trial soon.

given its problematic launch a lot of people myself included have a negative view of age of conan , still more dont want to buy it because they are unsure how well it ll perform on thier pc . i m currently starting to hear some possative things from people who stayed in the game . my feeling is that conan really needs to offer a free trial now so those in doubt weather its worth playing because of it bugs or because they dont have a beast of a games machine can get to try it . after the initial zerg of people willing to buy the game funcom now need to put thier money where there mouth is and give anyone a chance to see what a quality (or not ) product they have .

I know I am not paying to try this game till it starts getting better reviews.
I've just received an email from funcom stateing that they have now activated the buddy keys that came with the collectord edition. One more thing that was suppose to be in at release and was not, where are all the class action lawyers when you need them. John Edwards are you there.

I dont think Failcom will have free trial soon. It will just cause more bad reviews to appears.

Gaute needs to distribute this tender, perfectly prepared steak to more people, so they do need a free trial. Actually, it'd be quite smart of them to make it like the Beta but just keep the level cap at 20. Then everyone would see the shiny, polished Tortage and say 'Wow this game R teh awsum" and then buy it, only to find how bad it is later on. Funcom still gets the money of that one or two months subscription after the trial.

Totally agree. But i seriously dont understand whats on their mind now. They better polish up the game real fast before the xbox version is release, else they will totally tarnish both their reputations in both the pc and console world.
And they can say bye bye to gaming in future.....

Guess Pass Keys werent promised for launch that was something presumed by posters.

My point?
Look at the games now. Yes, we live in a time of "pay to beta" and the publishers know this, force the programmers to half ass things, and the people buy it and play. Is this good for a company? No. But we do it anyway.
All I'm saying is this game has what it takes to be amazing... what it didn't have, time.
Give it time.

Whats even funnier is two days ago you could find that second link on the first page between 1-3. Doing the same search now gets you page after page of anger for the $2.99 download fiasco. Nothing like ashotgun to the foot to make your company look good

But those games did not release with barely half the content that is printed on the Box.
It has what it takes to be amazing? Please do elaborate. It has no long term appeal at all, PVP is boring and meaningless. No end game content and don't tell me they can create content faster than the level 80 guilds can play through it. Crafting is so boring and simple it makes you want to stab yourself in the head.
This game is a failure and seeing the XBOX360 version is scheduled for late 2009 shows you how long they plan to get this crappy game complete and bug free.
But you go and have fun with your amazing pay to play beta of "Age of ConArtists: HyperBORING Adventures"

I'm not playing Age of Conan, nor will I. I have played my share of "pay for betas". I was only making the statement that there's room for improvement. Forgive me for saying the wrong words o' mighty one.
Perhaps maybe down the road it will become something... you don't know this, nor do I. Until that day comes, right now I wouldn't buy the game even if someone forced me.
wow 2.99 just for the client so you can play the game on a buddy key . i did nt know anything about that . funcom can go forth and multiply then .
My brother just bought this game and is bugging me to pick it up too. And since reading a numerous amount of negative views towards this game since launch I'm hesitant to pick it up. But since Buddy Keys work I suppose he can send me his key, and I might be willing to shell out 3 dollars for the client.
Is the buddy key, or the downloadable/purchasable client a full version of the game? Will I be able to have a full AoC experience playing alongside my brother? And how long is the buddy key trial for?
A free trial would be a terrible business decision for FC. They still need to recoup as much as possible out of this turd. Letting those potential buyers play for free and see how bad it is would be disastrous for any future earnings.
If I could have played for free I would never have bought this "game" from them.

Another game people got "suckered" in to buying before waiting for reviews.
Hasn't this been tried and tested a 1,000 times before? Seems like companies (Not just Funcom) are rushing to make their cash-cow as fast as possible.
Yes we all want that game that will rekindle that spark we use to have, but it looks like everyone's out for the money... so why should Funcom be looked down any different then all the other companies?
Perhaps in time this game might shine. Then again it could flop over and die... the only way to know it time.
Some people are loving it, others are hating it. It's really up to each person to truly be the judge... yes it does help to hear the non-stop complaints of 1,000s, but what about all the others who aren't saying things?
lol - almost 20 gbs of client WILL make this game fail once again. I think AOC is proving out to be EXACTLY NOT what MMOs should be build around.

Aww.. According to the AoC site, only the collector's edition buddy keys can be used right now. Tough luck for me.
