Yeah i agree, its worth another shot performance wise. But in my opinion the game doesn't offer enough, it needs so much more content in the higher levels. I understand they are working on it, but I'd still suggest anyone to give the game another 6-12 months before trying again.

...just re-subbed myself and am having a great time. Great community!
I dont know I still cant stand the animations, its usually not a big deal but hm didnt they say they were gonna revamp the models?
yae your right but as a high level player yes you should give it at least 6 months but iam a newbie so it will take at least 3-6 months(yes iam not hardcore} for me to get to your level and worry about the end game (i know high levels are normaly the bread and butter of these game companys as they are the ones who reg pay the subs)
yes theey are and i think they are gonna totaly relaunch the game with new starting isle and all i guess just like eq2.

Yeah, i heard that too about the starting isle. Players will have a choice to start on the starter isle or where the race starts now, apparently. I haven't read it, just what i have picked up from the general chat channels.
The game is going in the right direction, i just wish it had never launched and came out 2010. Now that would be one hell of a game with that amount of time put into it. What i am trying to say is that this game needs time, and a lot of it. It can be the next big thing in my opinion PvE wise, but not for a very long time yet.

I started it up and was having a lot of fun, but then got into War beta, so haven't been back yet, hehe. Bad timing I guess.

it does but i dont think iam being unfair when i say its not as buggy as age of conan is at this moment
Vanguard is in much better shape now, than Age of Conan. But then again SoE has had a little over a year to tweak and fine tune it and it still is nowhere near done.
The MAIN difference between VG and AoC is that SoE pushes out patches that actually fix the game, and make it better ... where as Funcom patches and breaks more things than it fixes, and not too mention the "All at once" nerfs. Sorry, but most MMO devs change classes a little slower, over time to give people a chance to adapt to their toons ... Funcom changes a class all at once (Necromancers), that is just rude.
Never played AoC, looked a load of crap to me from the begining so didn't follow it up. With what i'm hearing i am glad i didn't give it a chance. Money saved
But yeah i agree with the bit about the updates actually fixing the problems in Vanguard, you have to take your hat off to them. Reminds me a little of Eq1, which is my favorite MMO, so keep up the good work with VG:SoH and we'll see

Always happy to chime in to support this game. I speak as someone who tried it about 6 months ago and found it unplayable. Now it's playable, and the gameplay comes across very nicely
Laggy and somewhat crappy animations are still a major aesthetic problem, as well as character models, but these are on the list to be fixed, and apart from these problems, and just a bit of general glitchiness overall, the game plays well and looks good on the kind of system that would play AoC (not quite as good as AoC, but decent enough by modern standards).
Certainly for PvE-ers for whom a continous persistent world to explore is important, and for whom some depth to the gameplay is important, VG is IMHO the best MMO out there at the moment.
I know the game is growing and has lots more it can improve on but why are people saying to wait 6 more months? This game offers more features already than any game on the market. Does it have as much "adventuring" to do as WoW, probably not. Does it have as much PVP, definitely not. But there is tons of adventuring to do, tons of crafting to do, tons of diplomacy to do. No other game has all those options. Yes, if you rush to 50 and want to raid then WoW has more options, but no other game has 2 other facets equally as challenging and as fun to focus on. You can get to max crafting in WoW in 1 day and you have to adventure to do it, vanguard has much more freedom.
Read what features this game has, if they sound good, try it out. Waiting to play a game you have the money and time to play for "more and more" to come out doesn't make a lot of sense. You'll be waiting forever, its an MMO... there will always be more coming.
