Simply, just trying to be constructive, could anyone list 5 things you would like to see improved upon in the game. Within reason.
Plz no shut the game down, fire the director, get rid of instances, free downloads.
Im talking core game, things you thought could be done better.
Just keep it simple. 5 things
Here's mine.
1. More diversity in armor,
2. U.I. Interface improvements, easier to navigate.
3. Sky - looks great in places - where are the clouds though? make the sky look as good as the water.
4. Items - drops need to be more useful
5. Crafting, make it easier to get into, and have more depth.
Cheers!

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Good list I'd agree with. but I'd add the following.
1. More content past lvl 40. It is very linear after 40 and the quantity of solo quests thins out to the point where you are stuck doing repeatable villa quests.
2. Dump the combo keys from the combat system or make the combos drive the abilities. My preference is to drop them altogether and let the shield/directionality of combat and the interactivity be the driver. At lower levels I found the melee combat a lot of fun at higher lvls I found the combos tedious and a negative that were a big factor in my quiting.
3. Make group instances all unique to the group and not shared. Cistern series of dungeons could have been great if they were not farmed and a pain to do quests.
4. I'm prove the rewards xp wise for grouping. As it was when I played grouping was not well done in that you could exploit it for xp or in a normal group it didn't give good enough xp all around.
5. Inventory system needs serious work. The one bag appoach really sucks. I dumped stuff on the ground by the ton because I could never carry much. They need to add multiple bags and give them multiple pages of inventory space.
6. The harvesting system needs to be changed to be more like wow or vanguard where the spawns are not static but someone random. I know they are static in these other games also but they are static spawn nodes with far less actual spawns. Change the frequency or rares too. I harvested several hundred slate or whatever it was and never got the rare one. This is kinda out of wack. Although it didn't matter since at the time crafting really didn't work. Not sure if they ever fixed it.
7. Drop apprenticing and add mentoring. As a high lvl person I'd like to be able to help lower level people advance through content that is appropriate to them rather then having them help me advance. Also it is nice to go back and finish content you might have missed rather then helping lower level bypass content that is appropriate to them ruining the fun of new content when they are level appropriate.

Ethion
1. Make crafting mean something and give crafters a role in the economy (more crafter diversity and choice)
2. Make the world larger and more open
3. More character customization (not only appearance but depth)
4. More diversity amongst the classes (roles are too blended or sometimes too linear)
5. Stop half-assing the PvP system
the only I want changed is to make the game more accessable to people with mid-range computer, thus not making them have to upgrade.
Apologize for not launching with the features on the box.
Hire paid Customer Service.
Fire Gaute.
Put Craig Morrison in charge of development.
Stop doing the coding in China.
1. Why have all the Character modification if you are just going to cover it with baggy armor.
2. Memory Leak
2A. Memory Leak.
2B Memory Leak.
3. Better Chat Interface. Face it most people play MMO for the multiplayer. Chatting is half the fun even though it tends to lead to "Barrens Chat". Easier use of Emotes.
4. More diversification of Party Raiding.
5. Better PVP System/Better Balancing of PVP.
PS Stop treating haters like the enemy. Really we are willing to work with you on game problems.
Waiting for the next thing
AoC needs alot of things to make it a truly good MMorpg to me
1. Better possibilities for Classes to really differ in skills ,atm everyone of the same Subclass is about doing the same stuff skill wise .Beside Tanks cant all tank equal like stated ,if you want to play a real tank you have to be a Guardian but skill wise its a lil boring to me ,Healers all just put a Hot on players and nuke or meele a lil but there not enough difference in the classes of the same sublass to me . And there arent enough really meaningfull skills as well ..every meeler has some sort of lower mobs resistance to xy by 5% and thats about it lvl 1 to 80 5% ..doesnt even make a difference ..thers no real crowd controlling class everyone has a lil thers no real dps lowering class all have a lil meaningless ability to crowd controll ..thers no pulling class all have a chance to pull the entire zone at once ..thers no tactic at all just bash bash bash bash kill kill kill without a brain.
2.Grouping .. is useless all you do its lower your xps you wont get better gear since you can get the same gear solo from boss drops without the chance to loose your plate helmet 1 vs 6 to some mage who still noob and doesnt know when to roll. Grouping should be needed in order to aquire great items raiding should be needed in order to aquire mighty super bad items ..atm you get the same shit grouping then soloing and better shit raiding but why should i raid at lvl 80 to get better gear in order to raid even more to get even better gear .. where can i put my better gear to use beside in raids ? there no Alternate advancment points you could use your cool gear to xps faster (beside xps are fast enough anyway).. i want to raid for the purpose to be more efficient at other things i do ..and not to raid better .
3. leads to Meaningfull Gear with usefull stats at lvl 19 you can get 1.6% invul rating helmet with 2 defense at lvl 79 you can get a 1.6% invul rating helmet with 20 defense .Im sorry did i miss somethign ? wich monkey did design such a idiotic gear system .While the stats are not overpowering wich is good i dont understand why the max bonus of a gear piece can only be added at the 9th lvl each 10 lvls 9 19 29 39 49 was it made to make balancing easyer ? think again and place a real usefull system ..thru all lvl ranges its just too static and gets boring fast ..Real Gear drops shouldn be static thru all lvls .
4. Meaningfull Feats ..take a PoM he does get more nukes and a tad more healing with Feats and some other minor gimmnicks but just not enough i dont need 30 feats to increase my dps and thats again about the same for every class noone has real meaningfull feats or just 1 or 2 beside that its all the same shit . (Bear shammy has in my eyes the most promising feats) But in order to keep the promise to make all Feat decks work ..making all the feats do the same is needed ... i guess. Sad sad sad sad saaaaaaaaaad.
5.Alternate Advancment ... yea. already stated but il make it point 5 ..
if all thoose points would be changed ..+ server stability +other fps issues for players
AoC would have a bright future in my eyes
Atm i predict them a low numbered playerbase maybe 3 or 4 servers left at the end about 1year from now when all tested it for 2-3months ..as long as its some profit the game will continue like all Mmorpgs.
1. performance
2. AI (i say that for all games, until i come across a game with AI's like those in the decent RPG games)
3. the community (more chat would be nice, get rid of the WoW junkies)
4. more armour types would be nice
5. decent weapons (ones that will last more than 3 levels)
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
1. Professional GMs/Mods
2. More upcoming patch info sooner
3. Don't listen to the Community but watch for improvements through there gameplay.
4. See 3.
5. See 3.
3 is the most important. Listening to the GAME community is just ASKING for trouble. Constant crying for nerfs and fixes that fit the 1 class and posters desire is not the way to balance or fix a game.
Mine are very similar to the OP
1. More diversity in armor. Definitely & also make bonuses easier to interpret. At the moment many lower level armour items look the same or better than higher level ones. This can't really be the case as it would be pointless to upgrade, so I assume it is just the way that the numbers are presented.
2. U.I. Interface improvements, easier to navigate.
3. Player Housing, yes I know it has no effect on the game but it's nice to have a home all the same..
4. Items - drops need to be more useful. This would also improve the Traders Market. Currently there seem to be little variety in the market because the drops are too bland & most people probably can't be bothered to wait for a trader sale & just sell them to regular shopkeepers.
5. Crafting, make it easier to get into, and have more depth. Haven't tried this yet, but if it were possible to make custom designed clothes, or even furniture for that player housing I would be interested.
This was a great positive thread idea though, I hope Funcom listen to some of the suggestions.
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?
Take the Hecatomb? TCG What Is Your Doom? quiz.
1) Tell us about things that they consider an exploit prior to nerfing it. Example: Many, many, many people invested 100s of hours getting together hundreds of gold worth of gems to make a set of armor. Because of problems on PvP servers with 1 shotting, they nerfed these gems into oblivion.
2) Don't balance PvP by nerfing both PvE and PvP. This is my biggest pet peeve in my MMORPG experience. They nerfed my PvE Guardian because they were too powerful in PvP. I have had gems, armor, skills and shields nerfed. The shields were nerfed because ToS and PoM in PvP were too hard to kill. Give me a break.
3) Don't open more servers until you are sure they will stay populated. I started on the Ajujo server thinking it would be easier to get into the swing of things because it was a newer server. It is a ghost town now.
4) Don't balance raids until you are sure that things work. I haven't logged in in awhile but I am positive that no one has been able to complete Yakmar, Kylikki and that dragon dude on my server because of the huge sweeping changes they make. My guild was able to kill Champion of Honorguard four times but it was a long and terrible chore and we had to use pathing bugs each time. Now that Guardians are nerfed to shit I doubt I could even MT him again.
5) Stop gold farmers. I don't care that people sell gold, hell, I have bought it before. What pisses me off is that they KNOW peopple are farming gold when they have never said one word and play 24/7. In the EULA account sharing is illegal so how can they possibly not ban someone that has been online for hundreds and hundreds of hours straight. What bugs me is that when I want to farm myself some gold in FoD epic there are three other people that have been there for the past 4 days killing everything.
I really hoped this game would work. I had two accounts, was max armorsmithing and a level 80 Guardian, was raid leader in my guild and had a very nice set of armor that took me forever to get. All good things must come to an end. I just hoped it wouldn't happen after two months.
Only really three of them that concern me.
1. More bags and more bag space
2. More interesting, nice looking and useful drops at all levels - like in Vanguard where you can get meaningful drops (with nice backstory) at low levels on up
3. Better implemented crafting and it should be made available at lower levels to flesh the game out a bit. Again, I am thinking of Vanguard here as the model.
Now the objection to these points has been
1. "lore realism" - you cant 'really' carry a ton of bags/items in the dark-realism of Conan
2 + 3. "lore realism" - you cant have spectacular looking weapons and armour, this isn't wow for Heaven's sake.
My response, I am a huge Conan enthusiast (comics and novels) but a game is an entirely different medium from novels/comics and has a license to make some lore changes if it improves the game. I have never understood lore purists, whether it is with film or game adaptations of novels. I studied English literature to masters level and did night-classes in film-studies - I learned to always respect different mediums in their own right and avoid "the book is better than the film" cliches = You should always compare like with like. Age of Conan THE GAME must be different from Conan the novels, which in turn must be different from Conan the movies or comics. You retain the broad themes, but you have a license to change it for the medium in which you are working.
Thus, let's have more cool looking and, yes, surreal looking armour/weapons that make you stand out a little from the cloth-sack look we have now.
Other than these points, I do like the game. If Age of Conan was fused to vanguards crafting and items, now that game would be Chairman-WOW.

Melmoth
AOC has had it`s chance to catch the train but unfortanly it missed the train. You no what happens when you miss the train? it does not come back but you have to wait for the next one, which in this case it`s WAR.
They have lied and cheated money out of gullible followers who let pretty graphics go to they`re head. The followers accused any beta tester who tried to tell them the truth of being a troll? now here we are with the same people feeling robbed?
Can you hear it? that little whisper "graphics don`t make a game"
AOC is a sinking ship with limited time for the rescue. The only people who have not seen it are blind followers who start threads like this.
It will go down a storm on the xbox but as a PC MMORPG, it has failed.
For the people that got burned, the best you can do is move on and be very careful of shiny mmorpg promising the world.
honestly there are a hell of a lot more than 5 things wrong with the mmo. more like 50.
but here are my top changes.
1. Add the need to use different strategies on mobs and bosses this would require so many changes in character abilities that it would take FC another 5 years to implement.
2. Get rid of most if not all of the zoning and instancing. (another 5 years)
3. proper Itemization for weapons and armor with meaningful and descriptive effects.
4. Design weapons to reflect their abilities I.E if a sword does fire damage you should be able to see that it does by looking at it.
5. make all crafting useful and needed . wth this game has no enchanting!
6. upgrades and new spell/combos should come a LOT more frequently during leveling.
7.game should run perfect on a high-end machine which it doesn't, it stutters in certain areas on the best PCs.
8.a working LFG system with a LFG chat channel.
9. reason to play after you hit level 80,
10. Raids that only require 10 players.
11. better quest from level 20 -80 no messenger quest.
there are a lot more but none of these will ever happen so whats the point huh?
not only does the game need a lot of changes but so does FC's customer service philosophy and other outlooks that FC has..
forget about this game ever being any good... it just isn't going to happen.

What to me this is really indicative of is how in denial Funcom is about the state of their game, and the subsequent word of mouth conflagration of bad press its getting.
I don't think they can accept that Conan went from belle of the ball to scorned scapegoat in a matter of weeks, and are still laboring under the assumption that $3.00 download is not a barrier for the legions of mouthbreathers who can't wait to jump into the l33t world of Conan.
That was true two months ago, not any longer. Now, the mouthbreathing horde has moved on to some other shiny.
1. End Game Content
thats all
Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.
Avery I pretty much agree with the ones that you listed. But I'll try a few others too..
1. Make leveling much harder, so getting to high level in itself is an accomplishment (Like Lineage 2 but not as hardcore.)
2. More magical items. If a caster can shoot fire and lightning out of his hands, then we should have armor and weapons that have cool magical effects. Nothing too over the top.
3. More social clothing and more "gathering areas" where people can go to socialize and actually have things to do (music playing, card games, skill games, etc.)
4. SWG had some great ideas, but one of the best was having classes that never had to actually fight. Make people able to be musicians, exclusive crafters that can craft from level 1, women and men can be courtesans, etc. Although I realize this IS a Conan game after all, where fighting takes precedence.
5. Complete zone quests. You're in a village, and you get a message stating that a horde of cannibals are heading towards the town. So you and other players have a chance to defend the town, and if successful you get some sort of bonus (gold, item, etc.)
The list showed below is things that I'd want improved on from most important to me to the least (though being the top 5, they're all in need of fixing). Keep in mind I say "in general" too often.
1. In general, better communication in all categories. In-game communication is horrible. "Out" game, such as support online/on phone and in their forums is horrible. Marketting style, although successful, is horrible in my eyes. The first two can be fixed within time but the last one is really a moral issue. FC doesn't have morals so I doubt it can be "fixed"... so why did I put it here, heh... hoping for too much.
2. More content with more fixes on current content. Technically this is two but it all falls into the category of content in general for me. Right now the actual content is ok but nothing as to what was promised. Overall you have barely enough to get through to end game with a more than normal amount required of grinding in between, but it isn't absolutely horrible... considering leveling takes about 5 minutes and then "BOOM!" you have a max character. What's noticeably horrible at that point is content in end-game, which is non-existant.
Second being the general smoothness of the current content... it isn't as bad as I expected for their to be, what the bigger issue is is lack of actual content. Yet it still could use a lot of fixes. Occassional glitches and bugs, absolutely pathetic AI on enemies, no balance whatsoever for classes in PvP (and in some cases PvE as well), out-of-whack sieging, and more.
3. Way too much instancing. I usually don't mind instancing in a game, at all, as long as the result is good. But AoC has an extreme amount of it. Not much else to say on this, just needs more improvement.
4. Crafting and items in general. First of all, crafting is absolutely useless, and compared to some high end drops, the best thing you can craft is a piece of junk. Not that there are even that many good items out there (As a HoX, almost every weapon with specs made for HoX's were on daggers... what HoX uses a dagger?). Second, armor is 1.) useless and 2.) generic. The insane amounts of customization you can make on your character are pointless when you're all wearing the same paper bags.
5. The Combat System... great idea, and overall I prefer that they went a different route with this than sticking with what works. Sometimes you just need to try things out for the sake of the evolution of gaming. It's really a hit or miss for people, and I personally don't like it... but like I said, I appreciate that they tried something new. It just doesn't really feel like it works for an MMORPG and alot of the things in the combat system are pointless. Blocking, dodging, and charging forward are in almost every case a complete waste and it's better to just continue attacking normally. The shields are often just left three forward in pvp and I rarely see people futz around with those.... and for good reason. If they improve this though they can make their style of gameplay alot more challenging and interesting...
...that is, if casters had a similair system. But as it is they have a good advantage over the fact that casting a spell is much easier than coordinating a combo. And since I'm on the combat system, I also think they need to add more attacks/spells/effects that you can gain in levels. It would make the leveling seem much less repetitive and arbitrary, not that it isn't way too fast. At least spread out the times we get our attacks we already have when leveling so it seems a little bit more interesting.
I have more to rant about but I'll finish here.
(6. Fire Gaute... or somehow magically leave FC and/or they become an honest company out of sheer luck... or when they feel as if they suckered enough money to finally be honest )
If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
1.) Remove the creative director from the project ( pretty sure hes the sole reason the games sucks, all emphasis on being cool instead of fun) creative directors have a tendency to screw things up... badly
2.) Get a whole new class design team and remove the current
3.) Let Mythic take it over, they will fix it.
4.) Bring in Richard Garriot
5.) Remove all raid guilds from the game.. just ban them, we will all rejoice.
1. Triple the world size. Sounds obscene, but three starting areas as opposed to just Tortgage, and three end-game adventuring regions as opposed to just Khesetta, isn't really asking for too much. Thrice the variety in the middle levels would be cool as well.
2. Extend crafting and resource gathering down to level 1 (well...5 I guess). In fact, untie crafting and resource gathering from levelling and instead make them solely quest based. Use recipe drops as a means to encourage levelling of the character; BOP recipes so that everyone won't have level 1 (or 5) alts of every crafting skill.
3. Add outlying stones around guild cities for player housing. There's plenty of room to do it. In fact, I believe city instances should be completely covered in stones for player housing. Add personal storage separate from banks in homes, expanded bank storage on guild traders so that commerce players actually benefit more than mules in Tortage.
4. Add dyes and item imbuing tinctures available through Alchemy. You know, AoC uses an itemization system similar to DAoC where DPS and Armor Ratings are static depending on level. No big 200 DPS gaps for items of the same level like DAoC; no difference at all beyond subset stats.
That said, green items tend to have resists, blue items tend to have archetype related skills or procs, purples tend to have procs and class related skills.
We have enchanting but there needs to be more tradeskills that bring variety to items in the absence of more general dynamic differences.
5. The quality and detail of Tortage wrapped entirely over the rest of the game. From the voice acting, to the cutscenes of Destiny Quests, to the in general liveliness of it all. Big difference between a pirate pissing off the harbor of Tortage and all the dead unmoving faces in Khesetta.
1. Remove the tier 3 city requirement for high lvl crafting.
2. Add alliances that have the same game rights as large guilds.
3. Remove the changes to high lvl mobs.
4. Add armor and clothing so people can look as cool at lvl 80 as we were at lvl 20.
5. Add a pvp/pve option to all zones you enter so every person on each server can choose to play pvp or pve at any given time.
"You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill 10 pigs."
1. Substitute all content with the ideal, promised content of Darkfall, Renaissance, or Mortal Online.
or
2. Funnel all clients on all servers in to one single UO T2A server.
Trammies need to stop polluting the MMORPG landscape. They already have enough games in which to emote hugs and sell garbage by the banks.
