So I'm looking for a MMORPG, something like Monster Hunter used to be (Before the servers got shut down), 4-6 people going on a quest to hunt some Big ass monster. That's all I ask, graphics dont matter, pay or F2p doesnt matter.

lol the most i can think of that would have a group going after some big baddy would be a raid or dungeon. I remember hearing about a Monster Hunter Online, not sure if that was what you were talking about, but other than that, I cant really think of any game like that.

yeah, from what I've seen there isnt any MMOs beside the Monster Hunter Brand (though it aint really an MMO) that's main premise is the hunting down of giant monsters for pieces and cash, instead of epic lewt. If the MHO was brought stateside, I'd definately play it though, as well as most of my friends lol

I actually like hunting the monsters, carving them up, and using their parts for sweet armor, which is a staple of the series, even though there is a piece or two of armor I wish I never saw... *coughKirinsetcough*

I do agree, the Kirin set was very... ew. I've always loved the looks of the original Fatalis armor sets though ^_^ and the Aureous/Borealis sets.

I never got too far into the game, though I was decked out in a mix of  rathalos and diablos gear, with the Ian Garuga's final hammer, I looked pretty badass in that stuff lol

I was talking with my friends in how the people behind the series should really consider a next-gen game. I dont mind all the ports and such they are making for the PSP, but a PS3 or even 360 Monster Hunter would be amazing, and would make finding people to group up in the game alot easier, instead of relying on programs or friends to have a group lol

and yeah, my friend, as a cruel joke, wore the Kirin pants and made sure he stood right infront of me one time.... ugh lol

Capcom is full of dumbasses is why. >_< I had to get MHP2G in Iso form and hack my psp to play it, then waiting for my brother and his friends to translate it :P

I really do think this series would own as a full time MMO.

ahh, i only have freedom 1 and 2 lol, though I find it hard to play 2 just because my gear was reset... :(

It would make a good MMO though, if handled right. Most likely, the game would be treated like Guild Wars, with joined Capitals and other areas,  and the world outside of them instanced for you and a group, if not, you'd have to worry about players camping a well known dragon or monster so others couldnt get it.

One thing I've always wanted to see though, is duels in the game. It would be cool to actually fight other players in the game, for fun or for special items. Gear would play a major part, but skill is still a determining factor in the game. I learned how to dodge long before I learned how to use a hammer effectively, my friends thought it be funny to pit me up against azure rathaloses and gravioses while helping me get some gear lol

God I love the hammer, triple pound some face in :P, It's not hard to use, just hard to get used to.

yeah, out of several friends who play, I'm the only one who really specializes in hammers. One uses lances, and a few swing around the giant swords, while a couple play with guns lol

one thing id be scared about, is all the flinging around people would be doing in the game with swords, though... I like to play golf with people sometimes too lol

  • sanders01sanders01 Member Posts: 1,357

LOL that reminds me of the Original Monster Hunters online play, telling people "DONT FUCKING UPSWING" and "NO GROUND POUNDS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD" and the all so famous "Dont use a fucking hammer in a group.", just because it was one of the worst weapons in it, but now its the best >_<

Looking for the perfect MMO, one that offers the best risk vs reward? Then may I suggest Life in the Big City. Once you've picked your city, it can be  scary at first, and the hard work ahead appear daunting, but once you get the hang of it and don't give up, the rewards are the best out there. You'll come across a  monsters too, who'll stand in the way of your success.
