Seems our hard work on professions will be rewards in another way;
Spell Name | Level | Description | Reagents |
Master of Anatomy (Rank 5) | 50 | Skinning all those dead animals has broadened your anatomical knowledge, increasing your critical strike rating by 15. | None |
Toughness (Rank 5) | 50 | All your hard work spent mining has made you exceptionally tough, increasing your Stamina by 20. | None |
I am sure other professions will get abilities too but so far only these 2 have them.. as a skinner im happy chappy.

Hello AA, alternate advancing
Yep every prof will have one. Except Herb I think, because they get buffs from certain herb nodes. Not sure yet.
Tx Coffee you are a real booster of these forums.
Keep up the good work.
It just proves what I said in another thread.
Blizzard offers now MORE playing styles than ever.
They say: you just decide WHAT and HOW you want to play and we have it.
It's a move Blizzard learned from TBC: it is the PLAYER now who is in command of his playing style...
NO longer the designer or the (raid) Guild Masters (to advance your "epic" loot).
If that is the case, they need to get rid of the temporary herb buffs and give them a permanent increase like the others. And while this may further diversify your character from others ..... it pidgeon holes you into doing a proffession you would rather not do just to give your class a boost in critical areas.
I dont like it but in the overall scheme of things it apears to be minor boosts.
That's not really an offensive ability such as "Pickaxe Critical Strike" for mining (where you swing your pickaxe and do _____ dmg for example), they're more like free buffs, but that's just typical. A player will go for the buff more than the profession, but I guess that's fine, since crafting is so weak until level 70 that it's not very much worth it (except Enchanting). I had Leatherworking on my hunter and only made items to grind the skill. My gear was from drops or AH, except maybe one dragonscale chestpiece at level 50ish. But then at 70, that's when the good gear came.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Order of the White Border.
Well im a Skinner/Leatherworker.. I love that combo.. good money and best of all Leather workers get to use Drums which offer a good party buffs and as a hunter It nice to give other platers buffs once in a while.. its jsut a bonus I now have the +crit buff.
I can see maybe hordcore PVP players picking professions for the buffs but the vast majority will continue as normal
miner/skinner... double buff ftw!!
sorry, this adds ZERO more playing styles than before. its a nice boost to players, but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone high level without some already advanced professions, its just means you have an extra reason to grind out your professions besides the few pieces of BoP at max level, and the nice rare nodes to make cash.
off to make a new mage now, guess I'll stay away from leatherworking, don't need physical crit chance... ouch, that sorta gimps people now based on their class.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.

They are merging physical and magical Hit and Crit ratings in the expansion.
The leatherworking buff will affect your spells.
