PvP question

So will EQ2 not have PvP when it comes out? Will they add it later on?

It will not have ANY pvp at release , however there will be a pvp server some time down the road , it could be 3 months after release could be a year....i belive there will be duel arenas atleast a little while after release.

Thats false . The devs had said they don't plan on adding any pvp at all at this point in time .

SO mabye in 6 months they will deciede they want to put pvp in mabye they wont .

Last I read is the goal of eq2 is PVE (player vs. environment)only. No plans of PVP. That could change of course, if they have enough feedback I suppose. But back to the subject, from what I have read it is not on a list of things to do.

they did state in an interview that it was not likely they were going to have pvp, and definately not at release.

What we've found is that the PvP players really care a lot about their PvP and they're really vocal. EQ2 dev team: Everquest II is a PvE game, and we currently have no plans for PvP servers. Our priority has always been to make deep, rich Player vs. Environment experience.

There are no plans for a PvP server at release. There is no ETA on when or if we will ever have one.
We have consistently said that we'd like to find new ways to present PvP that will hopefully make the gameplay more attractive to a wider audience. This hasn't changed with the Q&A that was quoted. Whatever kind of PvP we do or do not implement in the future is likely to be considerably different from what many people might be expecting. That is, in fact, our goal.
I can tell you absolutely that we are not currently working on redefining existing PvP rulesets to make some revised version of the Zek servers. That's not even on our plate at the moment. If we choose to feature PvP in the future, our preference is to make it a new style of play that is presented as an option to our customers rather than a kludge of existing gameplay.

Moonguard on the offical site.Considering that they aren't working on pvp currently. To even go as far as saying its not even on thier plate and then saying if they do choose to feature pvp , they want to make a new style of play. Doesn't sound like a 3 month under taking.

So as i said it wont come out 3 months after elease. I doubt it will come out a year after release . Thats a major under taking that they haven't even started looking into yet. So as I said if your buying this game for the hopes of pvp don't bother. You'll be playing a pve game for over a year before they announce plans for pvp .
