I want to buy LOTRO but iam not sure yet

Hello All,

Iam in need of a new mmo but i want to know what this game can offer me.

Iam a pretty hardcore player (i often play 8-12 hours a day when i have nothing to do)  i would like some kind of real MMO feeling, like having an own house, fun community, open area's where i can walk, like if iam on a road, i can run into the forrest, PvE endgame?  atleast.. fun things to do at high level.

Can also my computer run this at max settings, without DX10 and HD? (i have XP, and no HD Screen :P) 1280x1024 + 4x AA.

Spec:

Processor: Amd 5600+ 2,6ghz Duocore,   Videocard: Ati HD3850 512mb,  DDR2 2gb, Windows XP

Edit: is it possible to put chairs in houses, walk free in your houses, visiting friends houses etc etc?

Hi! LotrO is a pretty casual game so the risk is that you will run out of things to do if you play 8-12 hours/day... but with a expansion coming this fall I think now would be a good time to start playing the game if you are a "hardcore" player... The "end-game" is very much improved in latest free conten update called "Book 14" and you will have plenty to do when you reach lvl 50 (will maybe take you 1 month if you play that much)

but from the other things you said you wanted from a MMO I think LotrO will fit you well! The housing is a bit limited now but you sure can but in furniture, trophys and stuff... and you can walk freely in them and visit other peoles houses (if they let you in :P )

With that computer you will probably be able to play it on pretty high settings and the game will look very good! Try the 14-day trial and see if you like it

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Hmm it could suit you but then again it may not, i suggest try the free trial.

Imo it's a v.good game it's fun and you can go on without having to worry about people running around screaming asking for duels all the time.

Atm the end game is so,so it has a few nice raids to do which if you want all the gear will take time to do but when you have done all of that and got all your deeds all thats left is pvmp but with MoM coming out at the end of the year you wont need to worry about end game for a while.

But as i said try it if you like it buy it :)

    Hope you enjoy it anyway.

Yup great timing, most people that post about lack of end game content have been playing since day 1.

If you start right now you'll probably have the time to get nice set, deluxe house, rep horse and GM in a profession and have a char ready to enter moria by the time it comes in.
