They don't make a computer that can run AOC smooth yet. Check back in a year or so.
The machine would have to have a direct link to Funcom's costumer service, and a insta bug patcher to do it.
This is strictly my opinion, but to run it smoothly on Medium settings i think you need at least:
AMD 5000+ or equivalent Pentium dual core
Nvidia 8800 GT or ATI 4850-4870 512MB (ATI 4850 is only about 200 bux now and it's a damn good card so i hear)
At least 2GB of RAM--->the more the merrier
A descent motherboard.
SLI has no functionality as of yet.
people with the 9800 serise cards still cant run the game smoothly. good luck.
to the replies above me: don't post if you not sure what you writing is correct.
the the op: google it before post.

you think if i get an imac with windows os the game can somewhat work properly enought to enjoy?
then how do people enjoy the game if it cant run smoothly for them bcause of their video card?
Lots of people enjoy the game. The term missing here is called "Technology" and if people think they can keep on using a commodore 64 Rig for every game that gets released, well I guess it just sux to be them.
The server is what we connect to, to play the game. Everything that occurs in someone's gaming experience gets blamed on the devs, when in fact 9 times out of 10 its mostly the consumers fault.
They read the box and the 1st thing most of them look for is do they meet the minimum requirements, guess what if your happy with the minimum, then thats all you should expect from the game.
Most def. your opinion.
AMD 64x2 4100 or something like that.
Nvidia 7950 GT.
Windows XP
2 gig of ram
I can put the game on high and get an average of 20 fps. On medium the game runs just fine. That's not an opinion.
I'm honestly not that impressed with the graphics. Animations felt a little to over the top for me and no matter how I did my mage he looked like a wrestler. Why does he look The Rock? Maybe it was all the rowing, dunno. I do wish I had shoulders like the guys in AoC though.
What happen to joystick control? I thought that the game was being designed for both key/ mouse, and joystick, and not just for the 360. Kind of the only reason I baught the game.
Not even the highest end computer can make this game not suck. My rig ran it flawlessly, but the game is horrible, and thats what matters.

I'm convinced the game would be more fun if you could use a controller. I can feel the hacking and slashing, with all it's crazy button, controller flinging going on trying to get out.
So yeah, without joystick support it really just feels exactly like every other fantasy MMO out. Hitting the 1-3 key based on direction is no dif. then casting a spell off the 1-3 keys based on the mob.
CoH, L2, WoW, EQ2 I've dedicated a lot of time to leveling toons in those games. I really don't feel up to doing it again in the exact same way.
If guild wars offered the same PvP as AoC will, I'd actually play that game. Really don't want to go through the same EQ/ WoW BS just to get to the point of the game.
Not FC's faulth though. Just sheep, like everyone else.
Ok here are my specs, and I have all options maxed out 45 images per second, 30 in the big city.
(so running perfeclty)
windows vista ultimate
AMD Athlon X2 dual core 6400+
physical memory (ddr2 ram) 4 Go
Virtual memory 8 Go
graphic card ATI RADEON HD 3800 512 DDR4

My old P4 3,2 ran the Beta already with a 7900 card ok, and the beta were more demanding. 2 gigs of ram there. But then we are talking low settings.
But the game is really awesome on high graphic and for that you need minimum a 2,8 dual core with a 8800 card and 4 gigs of ram.
4 gig and a 8800 graphic card is my recomendation since they are not that expensive. Avoid the ATI cards, dunno about the just released ones but they are quite expensive anyways. Nvidia card of the 8000 series and later have shader 3,0 and thats a must for conan. Also, you can probably do ok on a slower processor as long as you have a fast graphic card and enough memory.
I dont think there is any computer that can run the game with all sliders maxed today... Well maybe but it will cost a lot.
dude I play everything maxed out
(yes I'm proud of my custom-made pc)
